One thing common to all magazine and advertising photography is that images have to be sharp, and more and more clients want you in and out quickly. This ball head sets the camera as quickly as can be done. It is a real nice experience using this head.
I liked the stability of this head but I did not like that the lowest tension could not give it free wiggling room and was still rather tight.Mainly the plate locking mechanism with was uncomfortable to attach and moreso to remove the camera.
Very well made and easy to use for positioning the camera; a bit of a heavy side but this is no problem for me as I use it in a studio environment. It provide a sense of security that your expensive camera/lens are not going anywhere, will definitely recommend to a friend.
I was searching for an upgrade of my ball head and I found this. I wanted something strong but at the same time, not as heavy.First I though this ball head would be kind of light and compact, and I was not expecting good quality out of it, although it is a manfrotto (the photos of the product make...
Rock solid and faster to point your DSLR where you want it. I love this product.
Good ball head for heavy gear and larger lens's. Movement is precise and accurate and it stays where you put it. The amount of friction adjustment allows for very granular control to be set for any load and both the pan and ball movements are silky smooth. It is a heavy head and may not be the best...
Great ball head, but the plate to ball post is ill fitting. The keyed surfaces between the plate and the ball are a loose fit even when the screw is tight. The only thing keeping it from rotating a few degrees when assembled is how much torque is applied to the screw. Once really tightened its OK.
I use this ball head with my 1Dx. While it's a little bit of overkill in terms of the weight applied, I use this exclusively outdoors on civil construction sites with numerous heavy excavators and trucks running around so I wanted something with a bit of extra bulk that could take the knocks that...
It is a very easy to use, very solid and reliable!
Bought this for general landscape use as well as some close-up macro work. This has a great motion and grabs nicely when locked. It is heavy, but this is reasonable considering the solid feel.Quick release is nice and re-attaches to head very easily.
