I'm using it for stills and videoIts easy to level quickly and panning is smoothIts fairly heavy which is good to damp vibration but not so good on long hikes
I've owned many ball heads in the past. This is the best out there in my opinion. The build quality is top notch. I use mine heavily in dusty environments, extreme heat and in rain and it's never let me down. A blast with the air compressor cleans it up nice.
Big and sturdy, chunky feeling release plate. Has basically all the features you would need, but it's a bit heavy. Pairs well with an 057 tripod. Adjustable handles are a nice touch, as well as levels. Pretty smooth and functional. Not the most precise engineering, but for 98% of uses it is fine.
Excellant companion to the 057 3-section carbon fiber tripod w/ rapid center column. My first priority was stability and this combination met my expectations. Easy to use with an ergonomic design. Alittle on the heavy side but well worth it.
No flaws at all. Rock solid, quite easy to adjust. Can't ask for more.
Originally i thought of giving this product a 4 start rating, but in allhonesty, it deserves the 5 star rating. My only concern originally was weight, but compared to the small ballhead I had originally, the weight was expected.Accuracy with this ballhead is amazing.
This head is so easy and handy especially at situation where you just need change aim while holding the camera. It also very convienent to store where you don't need unscrew any part to fit in your cary case unlike other traditional heads. It is also very sturdy unlike other known ball heads.
This was exactly what I was looking for. The ball head mechanism is strong and can hold my canon 7d with a 100-400mm on it with out slipping on portrait mode. The levels in the quick release have certainly helped my landscape photos and the ability to adjust the knobs to where you need them to be is...
Sometimes it is difficult to qualify excellent products. This ball head is easy to be used, is beautiful, is sturdy and is very stable. When you put your hands on it, it will speak for itself.I use it with a Manfrotto 117B tripod and I can say that, they work nice together.
This ball head is absolutely solid. i bought it to stabilize DSLRs on short tracks that are basically portable dollies. And i wanted a ball head that would be able to hold it and stay ABSOLUTELY solid during the entirety of the track.
