The Tokina 11-16mm is a high-quality budget alternative to the Canon and Nikon. It's set apart from the other lenses by its f/2.8 maximum aperture across the whole zoom range and mechanism for changing from AF to MF.
Bought this for video production using a 70D and I have to say that this lens has become indispensable. Distortion at 11mm is minimal and non-existent at 16mm. This lens is a huge step up from any 18mm-based zoom kit lens. The constant f/2.8 aperture helps greatly in low light.
Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged
i think the lens autofocus is has some problem. especially in low light. it seems picture always come out soft like it is not in perfect focus. i read a lot possitive review but was dissapointed. but on videos the auto focus seems to able to get sharp image. which is very odd to me.
It performs better than what I expected; great for architectural photos, both interior and exteriors. Landscapes as well. Does not have much distortion and it is very good dealing with light, producing clear and crisps photos, even in semi-dark conditions.
