The Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 II with a redesigned styling and metal parts, and this gives a very slight improvement in resistance to flare, as well as a slight improvement in contrast.
Same excellent image quality as the original, Improved build with metal construction, Slightly improved resistance to flare, Improved design
Same focus system as old lens, Increased price
i use it to take some photos of my friends
Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight
Bonne optique utilisée avec la Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera. Très pratique car très compact, mise au point facile à faire.
I use this lens when travelling with a one body, one lens combo, as it's fast, reliable, and I find the 40mm (equivalent) focal length a great halfway between a wide angle and portrait lens.
Discreet, Fast, Great Picture Quality, Lightweight
As much as I wanted to love this lens I ended up selling it. I used it on an OM-D E-M10 and it is sharp, amazingly so. The thing that made it unusable for me was the chromatic aberrations. They were so bad that correcting them in Lightroom caused quite severe artefacts elsewhere in the photos.
Very High Chromatic Abber
Good quality results from a high quality, lightweight lens. Ideal for general unobtrusive photography.
Durable, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Lightweight, Simple Controls
When I read that Panasonic was working on a successor to its pancake lens (which I've owned almost since its release), I was excited. After all, the original was exceptional; how do you improve on such a solid product? Initial reviews implied that, well, they *didn't* improve on it.
I can't say anything that hasn't already been said about this lens. Some pictures are too out of focus around center if you take pictures at 1.7. Not the fault of the lens. Update: my apologies, but this review is for the first version of this lens.
I have been using this lens for about 2-years, almost exclusively with my hacked Panasonic GH2, mostly for videos. The image is so sharp that it's hard to go back to other lenses. Everything else seem mushy in comparison. f1.7 is great for dimly lit indoor shots.
Compact lens, great for low-light.
Good quality! I love it!!
