I bought this lens for its compact size and light weight. It makes my OM-10 into a jacket pocketable camera. Image quality seems to be on a par with the usual kit zoom, so you don't give up anything in making the change to this smaller lens. Highly recommended for traveling.
Small lightweight -- perfect companion for my Olympus micro 4/3 camera. 14-42mm is 35mm equivalent of 28-84mm so capable of handling nearly all assignments. It's a great all-day carry lens for sightseeing.
I bought this lens for special situations like visiting museums, churches or small groups where a long lens is just out of place and too bulky. This small pancake lens that telephotos out is a perfect companion my Olympus 4/3 camera body.
Good lens field of view is good made good. The zoom could use a toggle slow to fast its just one speed but overall quite happy with it. Would have been cool if it had image stabilization.
Great lens to use for my Oly em5 mkII when I what the lightest load possible. This little lens is much better than some reviewers would have you believe.
Very nice lens and what Olympus should ship with their cameras (it's way more compact than the standard 14-42 kit lens, which is huge). Quick to deploy, sharp images and surprisingly easy on the battery.
I got this lens for a compact travel use. Quick tripod tests show this is not the sharpest lens I own fromOlympus by any means, but more than servicable for vacation snapshots.
Have had this lens for my DJI Inspire 1 Pro for almost a year. Have used it maybe 5/6 times. When I power down my aircraft/camera the lens will no longer colaspe to the pancake it’s supposed to be. Lens works fine otherwise. Just can’t get it to close.
The size of this lens is deceiving. It does not look like much (but the styling is very retro-cool) yet the images it produces are sharp with good contrast. In combination with the Pen-F, I was able to get tack sharp images handheld all the way to 1/8 sec.
Very nice and much better that the kit lens. Great street lens and nice closeups too.Nice all purpose lens. Olympus make some of the finest lenses on the market. My first Olympus was and OM-D 35 mm with a 50 mm 1.4 lens. I purchased that in the 1970's.
