Low-resolution display, No third-party apps
Everything about the Garmin Instinct promotes necessity over enjoyment, from the simplified design and stripped back UI to the customisable format of the screens. The core focus of the watch is by far the navigation, and there's a steep learning curve to get to grips with it all.

Simple, customisable UI, Small and light, Good battery life, A lot of invaluable information for hikers
From the dial to the strap, Garmin Instinct smartwatch is absolutely rugged and shock-proof. They are not afraid of external adversity due to the moisture-proof shock-resistant case and sensors. The watch has built-in flagship activity trackers.
I’ll be honest, when I first got the run-down of these units back in August I was skeptical. Partially because I’m not exactly a huge fan of the exterior design of the Casio watches (just my personal style preferences), and partially because I wasn’t really sure how this would turn out.
Garmin Instinct: Besides a few minor flaws, the Garmin Instinct is an excellent expedition companion

No Garmin Connect IQ apps, Breadcrumb navigation only
Moving away from the mainstream of "i-watches" and watches that tell you when your dog needs to pee, Garmin Instinct is a fresh reminder that simplicity many times works the best. A truly compelling sports watch that lets you keep track of your fitness routine with basic but relevant data.

I have looked at all of the Garmin watches and the instinct is by far the best for the price, plus you get Kohl’s Cash. I use it for pool swimming, cycling and running. Can’t wait to try it on open water. I have gone 5 hours on GPS and still have bars left.
These watch is awesome, this watch is for the real outdoors man, watch looks amazing, I’ve had the watch for only a week and love it , the watch seems really tough, most of all of love the battery life I’m a week in to owning and using the watch and still running on the factory charge with two bars...
The watch is very light, all functions work well. I just felt difficult to start an exercise (I mean the chronograph), but its a matter of time to adapt to the buttons and where is each thing.
Very happy with the Garmin Instinct. Rugged watch/fitness tracker. It took a while to learn all of the functions but that's to be expected of an old guy! I would highly recommend the Garmin Instinct especially for those who grew up using the old Casio style watches.

This is exactly what I was looking for is an exit alternative to the Apple Watch. I actually had an Apple Watch and sold it, finding it not as robust for what I needed and also not a traditional watch feel.
I love this watch! Super light! I wear my G-shock all the time when I workout but now I can also track my steps and my heart rate during my strength workout. The only thing is that if you play Pokemon Go and wanted to sync the steps to the app, it will not work.
I had previously had nothing but fit it's prior to this. Went through three in two years decided it was time to get something tougher. So far love this watch, reminds me of my G-shocks from my Army days.
