While not the most advanced camera available, the EOS 5D Mark IV excels at being an all-around performer. Targeted to serious enthusiasts and pros, we feel it was worth the wait for the right user.
Very high-quality 30.4MP stills, Dual Pixel AF is a game changer for video, Superior high ISO capability, 7 fps continuous shooting, Improved 61-point AF system
Severely cropped 4K video, HDMI-out limited to 1080p, No tilt screen
Canon's EOS 5D Mark IV is the long-awaited fourth model in the enormously popular series of full-frame DSLRs. Coming over four years after the previous EOS 5D Mark III, the Mark IV boosts the resolution to 30.4 Megapixels with a new full-frame sensor that supports Dual Pixel CMOS AF for confident...

Dual Pixel RAW files offer very mild adjustments., 4k video employs a very tight crop similar to APS-C in size., 4k video employs a very high bit rate., No log profile, no 4k over HDMI, no focus-peaking or zebras., Screen doesn’t tilt – less convenient for live view and movies.
The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV balances resolution and shooting rate, making it an ideal camera for professional photographers.

Incredible image quality in all shooting modes, with easily adjustable settings and color profiles, Very low noise relative to ISO settings throughout ISO range · Outstanding speed in both image capture and AF, GPS and WiFi add some great accessibility without adding extra attachments, 4K video...
Very large body, 4K video requires CF UDMA7 (100MB/sec. or faster); SD UHS-I (90MB/sec. or higher) - New cards to purchase, Screen does not tilt or swivel, which would be helpful when shooting video at difficult angles, $3,500 is out of most price ranges
The newest version of Canon’s workhorse, full-frame DSLR, the EOS 5D Mark IV, offers a brand-new 30.4MP sensor system, while its forerunner used a 22MP sensor. The new sensor offers Dual Pixel Raw images and new Raw converter software, Digital Photo Professional 4.
My expectations were that the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV was going to be at least as wildly successful as its predecessors were, but that expectation was not very hard to realize. The Canon EOS 5-series cameras have become synonymous with value and versatility.
With the EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon has further refined its semi-professional full frame all-rounder. With a solid build and improved weather sealing, faster burst speed, increased resolution, increased dynamic range, updated autofocus system and Dual Pixel live view functionality, the Mark IV will be as...
The Canon 5D Mark IV offers a ton of new features and performance upgrades, but keeps things modest and familiar with its similar yet refined design. The fourth iteration of Canon's popular 5D series gains a new, higher-res sensor, a faster processor, a full touchscreen interface, built-in wireless...
Superb image quality from RAW files; Improved dynamic range; Excellent high ISO performance; Fast 7fps burst rate with unlimited JPEG buffer; High-quality cinema 4K video; Built-in Wi-Fi; Dual Pixel CMOS AF is very good.
JPEG files look soft at default settings; 1/200s flash sync; 4K video codec is cumbersome; 29:59 continuous video recording limit.
Full-frame sensor, Touchscreen is useful, Solid 4K video recording, Built-in Wi-Fi
Heavy, Expensive, Frame rate isn’t particularly high
If you can justify the outlay, then the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV has to be one of the most well-rounded and complete DSLRs we've seen. Suited to a range of subjects, from landscapes to sports and wildlife, it'll perform superbly in any situation.
As a magazine photographer, this camera seems to really bring home all I am looking for in a camera. First, I have been shooting with 8mp all the way up to 50mp. Back in the day, 8mp certainly worked, but I've quickly realized that 20+mp really helps in all categories for my work.
Although I have only owned this camera for a short period of time, I am enjoying the features and picture quality immensely. I had a canon rebel t6s before and it has help me to know enough about the 5d mark iv to use it without too much difficulty. I would certainly recommend this camera.
30 mp sensor, fast auto focus, sharp pictures, excellent picture quality, in camera HDR, full frame cmos, excellent video. fast shutter speed and, all around camera for wild life, landscape.sports, low light photography .etc.
no built in flash
This is a MACHINE. The touchscreen is amazing with all the controls there. The image quality is superb. High ISO is great. ISO 12,800 and even 16,000 totally usable. I have hardly delved into the touchscreen use but a friend did and he loves loves loves it.
Great image, touch screen rocks, Price reasonable for what you are getting.
support software is lagging behind because it is so new. To Canon I suggest rather than make software reverse engineer just give them the specs up front so they can launch with the product. It will make your launch better. The battery grip for 2 batteries is way too expensive.
I upgraded from the 5diii. I did my own tests and did not listed to all the online chatter. There is a noticeable difference between the two cameras. Image quality is improved. I really like the touch screen. Its so much easier to do a landscape focus stack with a touch screen.
Would never buy from Ritz again. Sent me a less than 1,000 camera when I paid over 4,000. Probably was hoping I wouldn't notice with all the cheap "freebies".
Great camera overall, I have a 5DM3 and the controls are quite similar so no learning curve to speak of. I really appreciate being able to zoom in on the touch screen and especially love the wifi feature which is very useful where I'm official photographer at dog shows, and also for portrait...
My best camera yet, a steap lerning curve with this wonder of tehnology packeked in a DSLR package
I loved my 5D Mark III, and have appreciated this upgrade. The extra dynamic range and low light sensitivity have been helpful. I do understand those who do not believe it is a compelling upgrade as the differences are subtle. Still it is a well built and solid camera that gives excellent results.
Excellent camera, as all the 5D line. It has a lot of new features.
Upgraded from the Mk3 and love it! Autofocus us amazing!
