The Zeiss Batis 85mm is the sharpest, clearest lens I have ever used/owned. I own three Zeiss lenses (24mm, 55mm, and, now, 85mm), and this 85mm is the sharpest, clearest one. The Zeiss 55mm and the Zeiss 85mm are comparably the same, but the Batis seems a bit sharper to me, and has more of a clear...
Best Lens I have ever owned hands down, Although I haven't owned too many expensive lenses, but it was a massive jump up in quality from the 85mm I had previously(Canon 1.8) *Both Photos Taken with the Batis 85mm on a A6000*
A great lense. I expect the best from Zeiss and I got it.
After deciding the Sony FE 85 / 1.8 (non-GM) was the best deal, I bought the Zeiss. Photographers I know who own that Sony lens and like it, but I am very happy with the Batis.Image quality is fantastic! Colors and contrast are outstanding, there is a definite pop to images.
I am very happy with this lens and I am glad I bought it. The lens is almost perfect; the only thing I would complain about is that I wish the lens hood attached a little better. Right now the lens hood has a soft click when it snaps into place, and I wish the click was a little stronger, however,...
I absolutely love this lens.I've already used it on three shoots exclusively and it has never failed. The autofocus is amazing and is sharp as a tack.If there's one lens you should get first, it should be this one.
I love this lens so much! The pictures are gorgeous with a beautiful contrast, great autofocus, crisp edges and creamy bokeh. It's my go to lens. The build quality is fantastic and even the packaging surprises. Highly recommends. For a more detailed review I recommend Matt Granger's on youtube
Yeah, I like it I recommend getting it over the g master and the Sony FE. Its a nice middle between them. It doesn’t have as much as the creamy boken as the 1.4 gmaster but 1.8 is still good for the vast majority of people and places you’ll need it and the FE is just as fast and sharp as the batis...
I use this lens along with my Sony A7RII and it is my new favorite. It is compact, lightweight and the glass could not be nicer. The color renditions are excellent for portraits and the bokeh is beautiful. Works beautifully with the Sony sensor.
Can’t get much better than this. Oooooh yeaaaah.... It’s 1.8 but gives bokeh like 1.2, trust me I also shoot with canon and use the 1.2L which is also incredible. But, I love this lens on A7 and eye autofocus. You nail it every single time.
