I purchased this lens in combination with a MetabonesT Speed Booster XL 0.64x adapter (for Full-Frame Canon EF lenses) for my Lumix GH5. This combination provides the use of this full frame lens on a Micro Four Thirds camera effectively eliminating the crop factor and increasing this lens' widest...
Sharp as a tack! People complaining about the slow focus are just nitpicking. Love the weight. Very well-made for the price.
The lens is heavier than I expected but it's performance is totally worth the extra weight, real crisp images in photo and video, sometimes switching from Auto-Focus to Manual Focus can make the ring go half way so you got to be absolutely sure it's all the way down or all the way up before trying...
Bought this lens to replace a Tamron 28-75 f2.8 that had served me well for 6 years. This lens is an excellent upgrade in all areas. The build quality is much better (but significantly larger and heavier), optics are outstanding, and the AF is faster and quieter.
Received this lens and instantly ran it through some tests! Overall, really like this lens. Build quality is great and feels super sturdy. With that said though, it is defiantly heavy and after a while gets tiring to hold! That is mostly why I gave it 4 stars. Quality though is great!
This lens comes so close to being as sharp as the Cannon version its incredible. The only reason I give it 4 over 5 stars is the 60 degree focus rotation (rather than the typical 90) which does make using this for video a little more difficult.
Buy this lens mainly because I did not want to spend the almost $ 1,000 extra that the Canon version costs.I was not disappointed, the colors are not pop art but neither are they ugly like the tamron or the old sigma.
I used this lens for wedding, social and personal photography. With a 6D. Lovely lens!!!
This is my second Tokina lens, and I love it. Other than weight, its performance and photo quality is comparable to the Canon 24-70 2.8. I am happy to carry a few extra ounces to save $1000. I have used it on my T5i with great results.
I purchased this lens as an alternative to the Canon 24-70 2.8 II, in hopes that it would live up to the sharpness claim, and that it would perform decently in other regards. I will say that this lens is very sharp across the frame, even wide open. However, there are numerous issues.
