I read as many reviews as possible before taking the leap and purchasing this lens. I'm happy to say, the lens did not disappoint in any way. The sharpness and color accuracy are exceptional.
This lens comes so close to being as sharp as the Cannon version its incredible. The only reason I give it 4 over 5 stars is the 60 degree focus rotation (rather than the typical 90) which does make using this for video a little more difficult.
This thing is stout! It's a big chunk of glass. I think for the price you can't beat it. The images I've captured look fantastic. But beware, you better hit the gym because it's heavy and requires a bit of torque to rotate the zoom ring.
What a great lens and its construction is top notch. I only wish it was not so heavy, but again, this doesn't prevent one to hold it and there's always the tripod.
I was worried that I'd be unhappy with the image quality of a third party lens, and I'm glad to see that my fears were unwarranted. It's a heavy beast to lug around, but it definitely gets the job done for less money than the Canon equivalent.
I have a Canon 6D with a 24-105mm f4 L lens as my standard go-to lens and have been waiting for Canon to drop the price on their highly regarded 24-70mm f2.8 L series lens before making the upgrade.
I used it this weekend taking Family photos & Fall Foliage on a Canon 6D. Sharp beautiful photos. This will stay on my camera most of the time from now on. It is a bit heavy but not a big problem.
I've always wanted to own Canon's 24-70mm f/2.8 lens but the price tag prevented me from purchasing it. When I saw that Tokina released a 24-70 f/2.8 lens for almost half the cost, I knew I had to get it and the quality would be just as great as Canon's.
I been waiting for this lens for months, and it worth it,Tokina don't let me dowm, easy to use, fast, really sharp pics, excellent in low light, and focus speed is accurate, just love it.i found it a little heavy, but very solid and well build.
