This is my second Tokina lens, and I love it. Other than weight, its performance and photo quality is comparable to the Canon 24-70 2.8. I am happy to carry a few extra ounces to save $1000. I have used it on my T5i with great results.
The lens is heavier than I expected but it's performance is totally worth the extra weight, real crisp images in photo and video, sometimes switching from Auto-Focus to Manual Focus can make the ring go half way so you got to be absolutely sure it's all the way down or all the way up before trying...
I used this lens for wedding, social and personal photography. With a 6D. Lovely lens!!!
I purchased this lens as an alternative to the Canon 24-70 2.8 II, in hopes that it would live up to the sharpness claim, and that it would perform decently in other regards. I will say that this lens is very sharp across the frame, even wide open. However, there are numerous issues.
Well first the bad things first purple fringing is bad at 2.8 easy fix in LR 2.8 is soft but I shoot landscape at f5.6-f11 anyway so 2.8 is no problem for me there is some dust or scratch on the inner lens but it does not show in photos.
I purchased this lens in combination with a MetabonesT Speed Booster XL 0.64x adapter (for Full-Frame Canon EF lenses) for my Lumix GH5. This combination provides the use of this full frame lens on a Micro Four Thirds camera effectively eliminating the crop factor and increasing this lens' widest...
My first impressions of this lens are very good.On my 5dIII its nice and sharp, easy to focus. smooth. I'll use it mostly for video, and I was pleasantly surprised how it dosen't breathe hardly at all, even in a long focus pull.also nice is its near-focus.
Bought this lens to replace a Tamron 28-75 f2.8 that had served me well for 6 years. This lens is an excellent upgrade in all areas. The build quality is much better (but significantly larger and heavier), optics are outstanding, and the AF is faster and quieter.
Received this lens and instantly ran it through some tests! Overall, really like this lens. Build quality is great and feels super sturdy. With that said though, it is defiantly heavy and after a while gets tiring to hold! That is mostly why I gave it 4 stars. Quality though is great!
This is a fantastic lens. Sharp images, no aberration, accurate color rendition. Solid as a tank; however, and this is my only issue, is this lens is heavy, 2 1/2 pounds. So if you have a Metabones adapter on your camera already and pop this baby on there, you are mounting the camera to the lens,...
