Tamron are here offering a very interesting alternative concept to their already very fine 70-200mm f/2.8 option. Reduce the constant aperture to f/4, retain the high quality level and moisture resistance, and we end up with a much lighter, more compact optic that lends itself much better to travel...

Tamron 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD (model A034) features a constant maximum aperture of F/4, providing superior control over depth-of-field and excellent bokeh. Compared to large aperture telephoto zoom lenses, the new A034 is lighter (just 30.3 oz.) and is more compact (only 6.8 in.

The performance against bright light seems to be the most serious flaw of the tested lens. In order to defend it a bit I can only say that it was a category in which none of the rival lenses managed to perform well. In fact we have seen far weaker performances than that of the Tamron.

I am using this on dx cameras d3200,d5500 and d7500. Straight off, the lens works like a duck in water on the d3200 and d5500. On the d7500 you have to sort out your autofocus in camera simply because you have a lot of variables and at 200mm it might not autofocus but you can nudge it manually in...
