I like this lens, and am pleased with the images that it has made possible. It handles well, and the results are sharp, with some absolutely gorgeous bokeh, despite only having 7 diaphragm blades.

Telephoto zooms lenses are extremely useful members of the kit, and with a long range of long focal lengths, the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD ultra-telephoto zoom lens is a great option to fill that role.

Sony Alpha mirrorless camera owners are lucky. Tamron offers a growing number of prime and zoom lenses to fit the Sony E-mount, from a 20mm f/2.8 ultra-wideangle to this ultra-telephoto zoom. We’ve evaluated several and the results have been consistently outstanding.

Tamron has added an interesting choice for Sony Alpha mirrorless owners looking for a super-telephoto zoom: Their new 150-500mm f5-6.7 Di III VC is almost as compact as Sony's FE 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 GM OSS but offers 25% more reach and is much cheaper to boot.

Only used the lens on one day out so far, but it seems sharp throughout the range and is very easy to handle.

150mm very usable focal length, 500mm good zoom for wildlife.
I have not had a chance to test the lens extensively in the field. However, the few pics that I have taken so far look promising. This is one heavy lens (as expected) but lenses of this focal length weigh even more than the Tamron. I mainly bought it for the good reviews and its discounted price.
With the current discounted price of £1000, this is the best value, price to performance tele lens around for E mount or any other mount for that matter. For my shortlist of "big" zooms, it was Sigma's 100-400, Sony's own 100-400 and this Tamron. The Sigma is nice and light.
