“The Suunto 5 wows with its feature list, but disappoints with uncomfortable design and a poor display.”
-
+
Great battery life, Rugged and durable casing, Helpful fitness training plans, Reasonably priced
-
-
Shoddy glass over display, poor brightness and resolution, Uncomfortable strap design, Finicky heart rate monitoring, No barometric altimeter, Limited sleep tracking

Although we warmed to the design and style of the Suunto 5, even getting used to the complex interface, the limited reporting along with the weighty tracking issues meant it couldn’t match up with competitors like the Polar Vantage M or the Garmin Forerunner 245.

+
Nice advanced reporting, Training feature is great, Attractive design, Smooth multisport options

It’s a tiny detail, but I’m very pleased with the amount of vibration that comes with each notification. Some smart watches can be jarring and abrasive when they want your attention. The Suunto is subtle – maybe even gentle!

Even against Suunto’s own watches the Suunto 5 feels dated and clunky, and despite some of Suunto’s most interesting features trickling down from pricier models, it’s hard to get past a poor screen, complicated navigation and a less-than-comfortable design.

Good battery life, Useful training plans, Packed full of fitness features

Poor screen, Complicated navigation, Uncomfortable strap
I bought this product mainly as a training aid, however I downloaded a trail I was taking up a mountain. Snow storm hit and the trail was pretty much gone. If it wasn’t for the watches navigational capabilities, I’d have been a goner up that mountain.

Looks good and has super functions

A little complicated to Use. It takes to get used to it. When you get there it is superb.
Excellent watch and I'm a Suunto fan.But there's no sense in making newer and updated watches and making it impossible to customize multisport (example triathlon) screens. When it was possible in older versions...But still a fan!

Distance calcutated with own GPS very succesful, heart rate works well.It is very good battery
I tested it only for a short time but I was very satisfied with it. Nice watch with some good features. It's very easy to operate. The menu is very simple, tracking works very well, it's comfortable to wear and the size is perfect. The battery life is excellent, even with many options turned on.
What I appreciate most about this watch is all the sports it can be used for and the many languages it supports. It tells me about my sleep patterns, when the sun sets and rises. It informs me about messages, emails, you name it. Too many possibilities to sum up. Buy one and see for yourself.
I’ve had this watch now for a couple of weeks but had my eye on it for a while. The smartphone notifications are great but not something I’m particularly bothered about so I generally keep my watch in power saving mode and only take it out when I’m using the GPS to do my sports.
Bought for my son for Christmas and he loves it. Practical and looks good too!
I really like the many features of this watch, as much as I like Suunto responsive community and applications, but unfortunately I have experienced too many issues in just five months to be able to trust this brand.
This is my 4th Suunto watch over many years. They just keep getting better.Thankyou Suunto
