Yes, that’s what this Sony is all about – a big, especially beautiful picture. Even calibrated the VW295ES can easily fill a 150” diagonal screen in a properly dark room, whether watching sports, other HDTV, or 1080p movies. We’re talking 1200+ calibrated lumens.

Native 4K 3 panel design, 1500 lumens claimed, Almost 1400 calibrated lumens for 4K HDR P3, Over 1200 calibrated lumens for best 1080 mode, Excellent color overall, Very naturally sharp – especially on 4K content, Does not look over processed, like some, Very respectable black levels (despite no...

Blacks could be deeper, Sony saves their dynamic iris for their more expensive 4K PJs, Lacks a wireless networking option, Like almost all home projectors – its just not smart, like a smart TV, Blacklight on remote could be a touch brighter, No lens memory (but the work around is easy), A couple...
Sony’s VPL-VW295ES isn’t significantly different than last year’s VPL-VW285ES, but it’s still a tempting entry in the limited world of affordable true 4K home projectors.

Excellent resolution, Good HDR brightness, Quiet

Middling black level, Limited BT.2020 and P3 color coverage, No 10-point white balance adjustment
Amazing projector! I upgraded from an Optoma UHD60. The visual improvements from one to the other are night and day. Picture clarity is amazing. Also glad to finally have support for 4K 60fps from the Apple TV.

I first tried the Optoma UHZ65, and the rainbow effect (RBE) was really bad. The brightness and colors were awesome, but I couldn't get over the RBE. At that time (this week) this new model of the base model Sony 4K projector came out.
I was blown away by the 4K picture quality, brightness, vibrant colors and UHD Blurays are pure eye candy on the Sony VPL-VW295ES. This is a HUGE upgrade from my Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8700UB 1080p that I purchased in 2010. I am extremly happy with this purchase!
