Great Prices and Great Experience
"I’ve purchased two TVs through Greentoe, and both experiences have been excellent. Best prices I could find anywhere, and both TVs were delivered right to my door without any issues.
My only mistake was forgetting that Greentoe offers a lot more than just TVs! I recently purchased applioances elsewhere and afterward realized I should have checked Greentoe first.
Greentoe will definitely be one of the first places I check before making a major purchase. Let's get the word out, and let the free market dictate prices. Craig Barton Scottsdale AZ"View article

Sony XR77A80L
I purchased the Sony 77" OLED and upon installation the picture quality is impressive. A bit of learning curve, I'm a videophile so wanted to deep dive into all of its features. After a bit to picture tuning over a bit of time I have the results I expected. The contrast, colour is the best I have ever had in my home. The only thing I'm still working on is working is its Bluetooth remote. I use a universal infrared remote control. Still figuring out how to implement that. In addition, the T.V speakers on its own blew me away. Great for people that may not connect an audio system to the OLED TV. Lots of useful features too via its Google application. I'm very pleased.

Fails to turn on after 18 months.
Power control board failed after 18 months. A power surge is unlikely, because the TV and all connected components are plugged into surge protected outlets. The coax for a connected set top box is connected to a fiber ONT, so not a source for external surges. The TV has been problematic from a software standpoint from the beginning, requiring repeated setup operations. It fails regularly to operate with its connected Sony receiver which also looses configuration. Don’t know what’s happened to Sony, but this long time fab is done with them.

Terrible screen uniformity
Regret buying this TV. In light scenes the picture is amazing but oled is supposed to shine in dark scenes. Unfortunately there are vertical lines or banding that show up in dark scenes especially in panning scenes that are super distracting and completely take away from the picture. Looks blotchy and like someone ran a paint brush down the screen in most dark scenes, it has terrible screen uniformity. Wish I hadn’t returned an LG C4 for this TV.

Unit Randomly Restarts
In the first two months of ownership the Bravia 8 would intermittently reboot in several sequences. I went to Reddit and other forums to try to troubleshoot it. There was an update on November 17th 2024 that stated it would address a bug with an external inputs causing it to reboot. 3 days later, issue persisted and so I attempted to isolate and triage once again. Removed all inputs, used another outlet on a different circuit, and restored the unit to factory settings. During the reset it rebooted 3 times. After the reset it just keeps rebooting.

Difficulties
Sound and picture excellent, BUT...
I need it to be simple to operate for a 90 year old. Fine if the TV starts in previous mode, but if it displays anything but the HDMI input, she's hosed. I need it to start WITHOUT giving me the latest offers!
Second...I TRIED to download a manual from the Sony site, but it's borked. Trying to get it to show more to display my model is a no go, calling tech support outs me in a endless loop. This is a part of the user experience I am not enjoying.

A good tv but ….
This is my second version of this tv. First one was received and, after professional installation, the first one was found to be cracked. Tried to purchase a replacement but was told model was no longer available! Was forced to find another vendor who was able to locate another example and install it a week later. New one now finally working but was disappointed with original vendor support. This is my sixth Sony tv plus lots of other Sony devices such as DVD and receivers.
