The Sony FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS is a very competent, if unspectacular, standard zoom lens for the Sony A7R/A7 full-frame compact system cameras. It delivers excellent sharpness in the centre of the frame almost throughout its aperture range, even performing well wide-open, although you'll need to...
This lens came with the a7ll I bought and for the while it was the only E mount lens I owned. I am a bit of a pixel peeper but I have to be realistic about the photos I take. Difficult light conditions and improper camera settings cause far more photo imperfections than the optics of this lens.
Good lens with nice image quality, albeit you're often at F5.6 due to the variable aperture. Definitely worth the price, though.
I finally switched from Canon to Sony and this is the Kit-lens that came with my Sony A7iii. Previously I used a Canon 6D with a 24-70 L IS USM and a 70-200 L IS USM lens. It't early days, but in tems of weight/performance I am not fully convinced about this lens.
This is a good all around lens Its light weight and has a nice zoom for shooting some jobs
this ens is awesome you can even take some good astrophotography with for a kit lens is perfect totally recommended
Not a fan of this lens one bit. Sony really seems to skimp out on the slightly cheaper lenses . Not one solid photo at the start of shoot and switched to a 35mm and tack sharp .Don't waste time folks. Very Unfortunate,
Ordered with a7 iii for $2198. It is not sharp. Autofocus is fine. It can work for fun. If you pursue better result, get G master 24-70mm f2.8. I think Sony can do a better job for kit lens. Maybe $400 extra instead of $200, at least stay away from mediocre.
It can definitely bit Canon Basic Lens
I use this lens for hiking, as it is very lightweight.
