Am comparing with the Sony Nex-7, of which I own 3 bodies.I dismiss DSLR cameras as inappropriate for my purposes. Film SLRs and DSLRs are too bulky and weighty, even APS-sensor DSLRs, to be carried when photography is not my sole purpose of travel and recreation.
Most notably in-body image stabilization, touchscreen control, and a faster processor that makes the camera considerably more usable for fast-paced shooting. The focus -lock is amazing, 4K Videos and pictures are stunning. My first Sony camera and I am very mpressed
Being a Nikon D610 owner for a few years, I was due for an upgrade. After research, I decided to switch systems and go with Sony. Best move I could have ever made!! ISO performance is out of this world. Easy go up to ISO 6400 with minimum noise. IBSI is very good too, especially for handheld.
Fast focus, good poor light performance, and better than expected stock zoom lens. It is my hiking camera of choice after lugging a full frame Nikon an 400 mm zoom. Not quite as good but much more portable.
Great camera for the price especially if your shooting video.
This things shutter speed is insane, slightly fast pic taking than a slow mo video. Image quality is outstanding. Wish the LCD screen was brighter tho
I was looking for a camera that could perform well with filming and photography....I got just that. Paired with the right lenses & equipment this is very close to cinema level work. Perfect for people on a budget, definitely a great purchase!!!
The Sony Alpha a6500 is now my walk-around camera. I gave it 5 stars, because my expectations for this camera were realistic and I got very much what I wanted: I was looking for the lightest-weight camera that allowed for full control and also recorded beautiful images, including great video.
I bought this to use professionally as a B-camera, as well as being a small light weight camera for street photography. It performs excellent in all ways. My only criticism, coming from a DSLR/Film background, is that the entire interface from top to bottom, is more like a computer than a camera.
