The Sonos Beam has a lot going for it. At the top of the list, there's Alexa, which brings smart-speaker functions into your living room. With the promise of Google Assistant and AirPlay 2 on the way, this speaker won't become obsolete anytime soon.

The new Sonos soundbar is compact but delivers expansive performance. From what we've heard, this small soundbar is a winner. Just a shame there's no Dolby Atmos support.

The Beam like the Playbar and Playbase before it are purely to output sound from your television. If music sounds good then that is a bonus. All Sonos TV products sound great but only on one soundstage and that is Dolby Digital.
