I use this on the 150-600mm Contemporary lens which I mainly use on my EOS C100 video camera. Surprisingly enough(!) the C100 Dual Pixel autofocus works reasonably well even with the 2001 installed.
I bought this to use with the Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 Sports DG APO OS HSM Lens for Canon. I already own the Canon teleconverters but found that they don't seem to perform reliably with this lens. I have been blown away by the quality of the images using the Sigma TC-2001... they are fantastic.
Excellent quality. Build feels great too!
I used this with my Sigma 150-600 Sport lens to shoot the eclipse, and got great, sharp shots. Autofocus doesn't work with this teleconverter, which limits its usefulness. Extends my lens out to 1200mm, 1920mm on my 7DmkII
I purchased this to attach to the Sigma 150-600 Sports - mainly to take pictures of the Solar Eclipse. However, try as I may could not get good focus using it. I knew it can't be the lens because I shot the eclipse and totality without the teleconverter and my images are tack sharp.
It is an amazing piece, although a little hard to attach, it's a great assessory.
I tried this converter many times and quickly realized how difficult it is to focus manually with a combination with my Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary lens. The lens itself does a very good job. AF works nice, but with TC-2001 you have to focus only manually.
As a rule, I have never found 2X tele extenders to meet my expectations with regard to resolution. I am happy to report that this one surprised me. I use it both on my Canon 6D and EOS 5M along with my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary.
Brought this for my Sigma 150-600 Auto focus does not work as some said it would not. But brought the Kenko at half the price & auto focus works. I have had & used the 1.4 kenko for some time & its been fine. So why the hell I brought this one don't know. But have returned it.
Boght this at the same time as the Sigma 150-600mm - which when combined give some stunning results. If you want to increase the range of your new lens then this is a must.
