Are you looking for a small, light, well-built, affordable lens that has a wide aperture, performs well, and covers the 35mm focal length? The Sigma 35mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens has your name on it.
The Sigma 35mm F2 DG DN Contemporary is a small lens that’s big on quality...
The Sigma 35mm F2 DG DN Contemporary lens sets itself apart from others with aluminum construction, an aperture ring, and a light, slim build.

Light and compact, Full-frame sensor coverage, Premium aluminum finish, Strong optical performance, Quick, quiet focus
-
-
Not fully protected from dust and splashes, Visible focus breathing
Make no mistake, this is a beautiful lens that has a really strong performance. Unusually, the logic applied to the design of the optics seems to have fallen slightly less comfortably when we look at some of the minor, niggling, more general design issues.

+
Outstanding sharpness, Low central CA, Excellent flare resistance, All metal construction, Quality manufacture, Pleasant bokeh, 3-year guarantee, Dust-resistant and splashproof
-
-
Edge CA obvious, Caution needed with the magnetic lens cap, No A setting lock on the aperture ring, Click stops cannot be switched off, Filter size not consistent across I range, No depth of field scale
Of course if our assessment is to remain positive that kind of compromise must pay off - how does the situation look in the case of the Sigma C 2/35? We are pleased to say it looks well enough.

monstruous vignetting on full frame,, distortion could have been lower with such an angle of view.
I've long been a fan of 35mm prime lenses ; one was always glued to one of my DSLRs when I shot weddings and events, and it's a great focal length for environmental portraits, journalism, documentary work and travel.
The Sigma 35mm f2 DG DN is a mild wide prime lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras and available in Sony-e and Leica L-mounts. It becomes Sigma’s second 35mm to get me really excited about shooting this focal length, following the f1.2 ART.
I have a Panasonic S1, which is my first full frame mirrorless camera. Now lens choice today is governed by ability to use a gimbal in my case a zhiyun crane v2 which gives me a limited weight range to play with. Therefore the choice is already narrowing to primes.
Great build quality, all metal, but lightweight and compact, reasonably fast aperture, very sharp, love the aperture ring and the magnetic cap. Bought as a walk-around general purpose prime that would not weigh my camera (the excellent Lumix S5) down excessively, but have also had good results using...
