Overall this is a serious alternative to own-brand lenses at a slightly lower price but without any hint of compromises having been made in build quality. The variable MTF results were a slight concern but field testing proceeded without any problems being encountered – and even indoor flash...
Constant f/4 aperture; Full-frame coverage; Full-time MF option; Optical stabilisation; Competitive pricing
Some chromatic aberration; Variable MTF results; Rather weighty
The Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM lens is a great value for full-frame shooters who aren't in need of an f/2.8 zoom.
4.4x zoom range. Constant f/4 aperture. Quite sharp. Optically stabilized. Full-frame coverage. USB dock compatibility.
Some distortion throughout zoom range.
The Sigma 24-105/4.0 OS is an interesting standard zoom: with a 4.4x zoom range, a constant f4.0 aperture and optical image stabilization it is an attractive package for people looking at a go-to zoom for their full-frame body.
Very good image quality in the DX image-circle., Effective image stabilization., Quiet and fast AF operation., Solid build.
Needs stopping down to f8 to produce good FX-corners., No weather sealing., Rather strong light fall off even at the long end., Quite prone to flare.

This 4.3x standard zoom lens is the latest addition to Sigma's new 'Art' line of lenses that promise excellent optical quality. It can be picked up for around £700 and as it is one of Sigma's top of the range lenses, it sports a hypersonic focusing motor, optical stabilisation, brass lens mount and...
Sigma continues to expand its impressive line of “Art” lenses, which are characterized by high speed, constant apertures, impressive build quality, and unusually attractive cosmetics.
I needed a "cheap" wide angle zoom since I shoot a lot of volume as a freelancer so I could reserve my Nikon 24-70 for weddings only. As it turns out, my freelance client told me that my image quality has improved! This lens spanks Nikon's 24-70 at every turn - except that it's only f/4.
Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Looks sexy, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
It's F4 Not 28
I could not agree more with the review from the Nikon folks. This new lens line from Sigma is just outstanding. Now I own (3) ART & Sort lenses . I have been so pleased with the new Sigma lens line, I just wanted to share this information .
Nice sharp lens and the manual focus feels great to adjust. Not the best for video because the focus zooms when turning. It's great for stills. I like this much better than my canon 24-105L. I just wished it was sealed and the focus didn't zoom in and out for video.
