Overall this is a serious alternative to own-brand lenses at a slightly lower price but without any hint of compromises having been made in build quality. The variable MTF results were a slight concern but field testing proceeded without any problems being encountered - and even indoor flash...

Your general purpose lens selection short list just got one lens longer. The Sigma 24-105mm f/4.0 DG OS HSM Art Lens, featuring great image quality, excellent build quality and optical stabilization, definitely deserves your consideration.

This 4.3x standard zoom lens is the latest addition to Sigma's new 'Art' line of lenses that promise excellent optical quality. It can be picked up for around £700 and as it is one of Sigma's top of the range lenses, it sports a hypersonic focusing motor, optical stabilisation, brass lens mount and...

The Sigma 24-105mm ƒ/4 DG OS HSM “A is a solid addition to their already-stellar lineup of lenses produced under their new Global Vision design strategy. The Sigma 24-105 is a very versatile lens with a great focal length range, a constant -- yet not super-fast-- ƒ/4 aperture and image...

Sigma continues to expand its impressive line of “Art” lenses, which are characterized by high speed, constant apertures, impressive build quality, and unusually attractive cosmetics.

Sigma released some great products recently but have they really found the silver bullet in all categories ? No, they aren't there yet. Traditionally standard zoom lenses have been a weak spot in the Sigma range and the Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG HSM OS | A is not capable of being substantially better...

With their latest lens releases, Sigma appear to be changing their past image of a manufacturer of lenses that are less expensive than the major camera manufacturers, instead concentrating on lenses that deliver performance to rival the best available.

Once again the Sigma company proved they can produce a high quality lens. Although it is not always able to compete successfully against its brand-name rivals (failing to do so when it comes to the chromatic aberration, vignetting or autofocus), in most categories it still gets higher notes.

Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM | AFor Canon EFLens Review:After heavy use Im comfortable saying this lens lives up to my expectations. Being part of the highly regarded Sigma Art series, I purchased with confidence that this lens would be of a very high quality at any focal length.
I was asked to test this lens with some reluctance. I was greatly surprised with the image quality. The lens is so good that I immediately sold my Nikkor 24-70 and purchased the Sigma 24-105.

Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
Solid build and a great looking lens. The SLR Gear review is right on. Though this Sigma is large and on the heavy side, for what its giving, I'll gladly haul it around. I first tried the Tamron 24-70, another great performer optically, more expensive, but also rather heavy and more limited zoom...

Excellent all around performer, sharp, good contrast, very pleasing build

weight, not weather sealed
Using this lens with Canon 6D Mark II, autofocus simply doesn't work for sunsets, moon pictures, etc. The autofocus never comes into focus and I have to resort to manual focus.
I bought this lens for the focal range and full frame coverage. The price, absence of real competition and the need for a walk-around lens made me take the risk. No matter how critically I look at the pictures, I only find softness at the extreme edges where sharpness is 99,9% of the team sharpness...

Sharpness center, Sharpness half-way. Overal optical performance.

Performance only in comparison to good primes.
This is my main lens on the Canon 6D MK II and I couldn't be happier. Well I could be a little happier if it had weather proofing but I guess that would raise the price so I'll just be careful when shooting out doors.
This has turned out to be my go to lens. Great clarity, color and sharpness. Sigma Art are the real deal. I'm working on purchasing a third lens from this series.
I have a D7200, D500, D750 and D810, this lens shines on all of them! It does great on full frame and cropped, very sharp, colors great and build is top notch. I recommend it on full frame but there was very little difference between the D810 and the D500 . I will be buying more Art lenses...
