The pricey Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports is a pro-grade telezoom lens that is built to stand the test of time, but boy is it heavy.
Very sharp. Minimal distortion. Built like a tank. Weather-sealed design. Includes tripod collar and lens hood. Quick focus. Image stabilization system. Zoom locking mechanism. Available for multiple camera systems.
Expensive. Very heavy. Relatively narrow aperture.
What conclusions can be drawn from these field tests? Certainly the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports lens is a well made, well finished lens that is quite sharp and features excellent color rendition. Available in Canon, Nikon, and Sigma mounts, the retail price is $1,999.
Looking for a lens that will bring your subjects in close without spending a huge sum of money? Want to be able to carry long focal lengths for long periods of time without significant fatigue? This lens may have your name on it.
The new 150-600mm lenses from Tamron and Sigma have helped change the landscape for budget-friendly super telephoto lenses. If in the past we were pretty much stuck with the native 400mm focal length, third party manufacturers pushed that envelope by another 200mm, making 600mm – something that was...
Specification Over the past year or so, Sigma has been gradually updating their lens lineup to fit into one of three categories, Art, Contemporary and Sports. This super-telephoto zoom lens fits into Sigma's 'Sports' line-up of lenses that promise excellent optical quality, fast autofocus and a dust...
For a reasonably priced lens, I am thrilled. On my first outing, I was able to photograph some ducks in flight when they took off from the pond. My photos were so clear that the drops of water falling off them back into the pond were absolutely clear. I have been taking so many photos with this.
My main use for this lens is for nature subjects with my focus on birds. This lens delivers way beyond my initial hopes. It is sharp at every focal length and even with a 1.4TC. Since I started using this lens I leave my "L" lenses home.
The Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens is everything that the reviewers say. A large nicely crafted flagship 4x zoom lens. Exceedingly well built, metal barrel, metal lens hood, silky smooth focus ring, weather resistant (if not waterproof for a period).
Great focal range. Solid metal construction. Solid metal lens hood. Nice carrying case. Large 105mm front element. lens lock for different focal lengths which eliminates lens creep. Silky smooth focus ring. The list goes on. I think you could drive over this lens and it would still function.
The weight. Did it really need to be this heavy? Non removable tripod collar. Should use a drop in filter.
This is an incredible lens! I looked at several of the comparison video reviews, then decided on the Sigma because of the firmware dock. This lens is used on a crop sensor dslr, but I have not had any problems.
This is an outstanding lens for the money. The price to performance ratio well exceeds expectations for a lens this long. The package arrived early which shocked me. Everything was in good order thanks to the marvelous packaging. Focus Camera deserves the 5 stars.
