Stay away from this model
Like a lot of the reviews here, mine has stopped working after barely a year. The control panel would stop responding all of sudden.There is definitely a design flaw and SHARP should do a recall on it. SHARP said they would have some repair company contact me and they haven't. Without addressing the real issue, if the repair company just replaces the panel, I fully expect it to work an additional year before inevitably breaking again. Also it's just super frustrating as it's just the control panel that prevents you from using it, all other functions seem to be fine. It's a $1399 unit and you'd expect it to work at least 5-10 years.

Beautiful Microwave
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first microwave drawer over we've purchased, and we absolutely love it. It has a very clean and sleek exterior with the controls hidden. The drawer opens/closes with the push of a button and has a very sizeable cooking compartment. We have this under our counter and it is so much easier to use where we lift the food up rather than having it above the range or below the upper cabinets--much safer when handling hot liquids. Also, the functions it has are straightforward and easy to use--you don't have to spend a bunch of time trying to figure it out. Great purchase!

An installation Note!
Almost perfect! It looks great, works great and looks so much nicer being located in the base cabinet rather than staring at yet another appliance in the kitchen.
The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is there should be a gigantic note about installation!! If you have a countertop edge over a skimpy 3cm, we have a 2" edge and the fabricator doesn't know to put a slight indent to allow for the finger to pull out the keyboard. We just barely get our finger in to do that so we just leave it extended open . Not ideal.

Good microwave but could be better.
The unit looks great in our kitchen. Installation was fairly easy. Only a little trimming of the 36" base cabinet was necessary to fit it. The microwave heats items quickly. A cup of water from cold to very hot takes 90 seconds. There is no rotation and I can't comment yet on how evenly the heat is distributed on a large plate.
It would be so much better if the control panel could be seen in low light so you could Open/Close the tray without the need to turn on the kitchen lights. Unless I don't see how to do it in the manual, only the time and countdown timer is illuminated; the keypad itself is not visible in low light.

Drawer microwave
Just renovated our kitchen to open concept by removing a wall to the dinning room. We added more cabinets, an island and a dry wine bar cabinet. The cabinet man talked us into a drawer microwave instead of putting our old one on a shelf and we are loving it! We have been using our Sharp drawer microwave about 3 weeks now. Looks beautiful and high tech it really compliments our new kitchen renovation job. Very satisfied with it! Hope it lasts a long time! So far we have only used it to reheat food or microwave baked sweet potatoes for our grandkids. I like the quick plus 30 second button.

Exceeds expectations
When my wife said she wanted an under counter microwave oven, I was a bit skeptical. I liked the standard microwave we had above the oven because it was eye level and, for me, easy to use. Boy, was I wrong. To paraphrase literary giant Victor Hugo, ‘Listen to the woman.’ Our new microwave oven is so easy to use and exceeds all expectations. We love the flip-down control panel and automatic drawer. The controls are intuitive and far superior to our former oven. It’s built in to our island counter and you barely notice it unless you’re using it. Which we do many times a day. Great design and great product.

Drawer-type Microwave
This is our first drawer type microwave. It is very convenient for lifting things up out of the microwave as opposed to sliding them out. This is also much safer, especially relating to hot liquids. There are a couple of issues we have noticed. The touch controls are not as sensitive as we would like and the microwave power is lower than previous models we've had. When the microwave is finished with a heating cycle, it beeps frequently and constantly, which is really kind of irritating. Other than these things, we are pleased with our purchase. We'll see how well it holds up over the years.

Concealed panel micro offers design and function
This Sharp drawer microwave is an excellent addition to our kitchen. The drawer configuration fit great in our kitchen island and looks terrific. The microwave's fold out control panel makes it very easy to see and access all the features when you need them and then neatly tucks away when not in use, giving us all the functionality with a nice sleek look to our kitchen. By being able to place the drawer in a lower position in the island, it makes the microwave much easier to use than an above the stovetop microwave for my grandchildren and short friends. The microwave has several presets for cooking, reheating, and defrosting to help simplify tasks. Overall, it is a great microwave.
