Would be a great product if it worked on all my computers. It only works on one of my 3 computers at home, (It's not a USB 3 issue, they all have USB 3)
Bought this drive to mine Burst, a coin like Bitcoin that is mined with hard drive space as opposed to CPU cycles. The drive is spinning constantly but doesn't get too hot. You can hear it, barely, but that's probably because my system is otherwise all SSD. I'll probably buy another one.
7.5 TB usable, no formatting necessary, works out of the box
Not for anyone who owns Apple products unless you are willing to reformat the unit (search internet to get instructions)
inexpensive and works good
not programmed for Apple products out of the box, but setting it up for this use was done after online searchs
Started out with the WD 4tb ps4 game drive but that wasn't good enough after watching some other gamers with the seagate 8tb. The setup was fast and easy and now it's time to put all my games on my new seagate hard drive.
I've been using this hard drive as external storage on my PS4 for about a month now and it works great. Games are running just as fast if not faster then they do off the internal drive. Great product at a great price.
Seagate has always performed well. Will plug it in tonight. Was just a little surprised that the envelope has so little padding. Great as always! works right away the way it should.
I bought this for a great price, after a $10 rebate, for $80. It is SO MUCH EASIER to back up all my stuff on this than a bunch of little thumb drives!
Failed after a few weeks maybe a defective batch. Usually seagates are excellent drives. Ordered replacement will see how it goes.
I normally love their drives, but this is just sold wrong. This should be listed as 7TB. I let it go if it was at least 7.5TB but this was 7.27TB That is a LOT of rounding up.
I have two of these and they work great. About 150 to 170 megabytes per second on large files over USB 3.0 ports, on my 10 year old computer. Super quiet and not hot at all.
