The Samyang Reflex f/6.3 300mm ED UMC CS represents excellent value for money for any photographer who wants a super-telephoto lens for a very affordable price.
Samyang Reflex 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Lens for Fujifilm X MountI used this lens on a Fuji X-T10 camera. I typically shoot at a fixed ISO 200, but for this lens, I increased the ISO up to 800 when needed in order to keep a 1/450 sec shutter speed, following the reciprocal rule of focal length and...
Do not expect top tier glass sharpness. I was disappointed with some super moon pictures taken with this.
Very narrow focus, very hard to use successfully.
For the money, this is a great telephoto lens. You sacrifice a little sharpness with the reflex, but it still makes great images. Well worth the money for a telephoto lens.
I bought this lens for astrophotography and I think it works well. I wanted a high-magnification lens for my micro 4/3 camera (Olympus E-PL5) that I piggyback on a polar-aligned telescope. I shot a series of test images and found that if I applied the PS plug-in NIK Sharpener Pro and used Layer Masks to sharpen the...
Affordable 300mm lens. Manual focus only. Don't let the low price fool you. It has a sturdy build.
Early review, I'll update as I get more experience with this lens: I bought my first SLR camera in the mid 1960's, and I was fascinated by (amongst other things) the reflex lenses that had appeared on the market at that time.
disclaimer: me stranger, please forgive my english :-) small fun lens for the NEX camera system. i use it on a nex-6, and it's hard to use, really hard to get sharp pictures, but it's still possible.
My first impression upon unpacking this lens was to realize how small and light it is. Then I was impressed by how smooth the focusing ring was, without stickiness or backlash, a must for this kind of lens.Once I got enough practice focusing with it, I was impressed with its sharpness.
