The HW-Q800A is a mid-range Dolby Atmos soundbar 'n' sub combo, capable of dramatic theatrics. Most will use it as a TV upgrade – its official channel designation is 3.1.2 – but the more determined can unlock full-blown 5.1.4 surround by adding optional rear speakers.
The HW-Q800A is the kind of Dolby Atmos soundbar that puts a smile on your face. It’s a genuine crowd pleaser no matter what TV you have, though with the right Samsung TV you get even better performance.
Crisp, agile movie audio, Seamlessly integrated bass, Good set of features overall
No Chromecast or Google Assistant, Only one HDMI input
The HW-Q800A is a powerful performer with a forthright delivery and room-filling dynamics, but it’s up against some tough competition
Spacious presentation, Weighty, articulate sub, Good range of features
Could be more insightful, Height channel lacks precision
The Q800A is an impressive refinement on its 2020 predecessor, delivering improvements in two key areas. Firstly, if you’re able to combine it with the sound optimization features of the new Q70A or higher 2021 Samsung TVs, the improvements in audio performance prove unexpectedly worthwhile.
Powerful, immersive, room-filling sound, Excellent bass support from the subwoofer, Appealing and compact design
Best features require a new and fairly premium Samsung TV, Expensive by typical soundbar standards, The 3.1.2 channel count could have been higher
It's a case of evolution rather than revolution, but this accomplished soundbar still delivers impressive Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based format decoding. There's also a powerful subwoofer, eARC connectivity, and integrated Amazon Alexa for voice control, plus optional rear speakers with...
Immersive front soundstage, Sub really energises, Dolby Atmos & DTS:X decoding, EARC support, Optional rear speakers, Alexa integrated
No surround presence, Only one HDMI input, Setup requires tweaking
An immersive audio all-rounder
i am surprised with the immense output from this soundbar with the multiple drivers working in concert together producing clear atmos audio. main reason for purchasing this combo was the samsung q symphony feature which integrates the output from the sound bar and tv speakers simultaneously.
Very good sound bar for new Samsung QLED TV. Airplay 2 is a bit wonky sometime, but bluetooth is good. Q-Symphony is fine thought some time the volume can spike up and down for no apparent reason when watching 4K Atoms source. That took it down to 4 stars.
This was so easy to install and can easily be added to gain excellent sound with any television. We are using this in our master bedroom and thoroughly enjoying it. The built-in voice assistant is an added benefit and always the ease of control. This system takes up minimal space yet packs a punch.
My first soundbar so I have no comparison. Always had a home theater set up and this does not compare. Ease of set up and interface are good. Remote is solid. Sound lacks midrange but crossover to sub acceptable.
The Samsung hw-q800a sound bar with Dolby atmos far exceeded my expectations. The unbelievable room filling sound and the sub shakes my walls it make the home theater experience so much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their sound system to Dolby atmos .
Simple & straightforward setup. Great sound, paired quickly with a Samsung Frame TV
The Samsung Q-800A soundbar is the nicest soundbar I have ever owned! If you are wondering if it is worth it – yes, it is. You get what you pay for and this soundbar is a beast. I am not an audiophile by any means, but this one blows my old soundbar completely out of the water and you can hear a...
After getting a Samsung Q80a TV, I thought if I matched it with a Samsung Soundbar I would get a fantastic match. As it turns out it is good but not as good as I had hoped for. The sub woofer doesn't seem to put out what I had hoped for. The bar itself doesn't give the separation I expected.
i had problems at first, come to find out it was a bad HDMI cable and the support helped me fix the problem.......This is my updated review from a 1 star to now a 5 star. thank you samsung support.
The quality of the sound is really good. I recently watched Black Widow and the sound was perfect!
