The table below lists the Ricoh Theta SC specifications compared to its more expensive sister model, the S.
360-degree video is certainly a cool trend, and the media you produce will be unlike anything you’ve seen before. Before the Theta SC hit the market, 360-degree cameras cost an arm and a leg. For the first time, you can now find this technology for an affordable price.
This is a pretty cool camera. Fun toy. Great for location scouting. Put the photo in some google goggles and you can look all around. Fun. OK. Here is the thing, and I guess this is pretty common, the app is not so great. So I had to purchase a 3rd party app to download and control the camera...
Great stitching but a lot of motion blur, you have to hold the camera rock solid or use a tripod to get good pictures. I wish it was a higher resolution, I wish the USB port was in a better spot. I wish there was a slot for a micro SD card. And the app could be easier to use.
More of a toy than a professional tool, but so much fun once you figure out how to use the app. Great for travel, but images aren't sharp enough for professional use.
The Good: Takes decent instant 360° photos without having to do that dumb and embarrassing panoramic body-swivel that mobile devices force you to do. That sweet audio when you take a photo! The Bad: Video capabilities are MASSIVELY limited. The software SUUUUUUUCKS.
Knock wood, but I've never had one of these fail. And the 2-pack comes at a great price.
This is unit to buy if you want to jump into 360 video and don't want to break the bank. It's not perfect, but at this price point I didn't expect it to be. The camera delivers a very nice resolution in stills and video. The weakest aspect of this product is actually its Android software.
Does exactly what it's supposed to do at a great price.
Wow -- despite its limitations, this 360 degree camera is a ton of fun! My husband and I took it on our vacation, and the shots we took of ourselves at various locations do a lot more to convey what it was like to be there than a flat photo does.
Works perfectly to protect the touch screen on the 80D without interfering with the functions on -- or storing of -- the screen.
Great camera to take 360 photos for google street view. Battery lasts a long time if you turn it off when not using it, between shots. Great for travel, fits right in my pocket.
