I am not a native of beautiful Colorado, but I got there as quick as I could! I only mention this because I moved from the second most beautiful state in the nation, Minnesota , eight year ago.
Owned for 1 month so far. Everything is great with the lens. If you want to focus on Macro photography you may want a 70 or 100mm lens, this one works from very close range.
This metal Macro lens on a DX body offers approximately a standard 52mm focal length in full frame terms. Excellent build and image quality.
I use this lens with my K50 and its basically the only lens attached to my camera now. Its a great walkaround lens that's suitable for a variety of purposes including low light photography. The macro capabilities are a nice addition. The lens is super sharp.
I keep this lens on my camera for indoor pictures, and outdoor for landscapes and macro. I used to get frustrated w/ my 50mm when in my small house, but now I use this one so much more!
I bought this lens only a few weeks ago so I have not had time to fully try it out. So far, however, these are the things that I have found that I really like about this lens.1) It looks and feels solid and well made.2) The lens is very sharp.
I am a confirmed Nikon man, but purchased my K3 because neither Nikon nor Canon understand the concept of "rain." Originally I bought the weatherproof K3 and an assortment of weather resistant lenses, but the more I use the Pentax, the more I like it.
All around use, and some Marco duty.Razor sharp.A little bit of hunting in Marco mode.
I purchased this lens for use with my Pentax K-50 to complement my 50/1.8 and have macro capabilities, even if they are limited. Pros: - Solid build quality, heavy and all metal - Sharp images - Macro capabilites - Great all-around lens Cons: - Macro capabilities require to be close to the object,...
I can't say enough about the sharpness of this lens in consonance with my Pentax K3! I have detail that I've just never seen before even with my 6 X 6 cm cameras. This lens is ALL beautifully machined aluminum and is just smooth to say the least.
