This 2x zoom lens provides an angle of view equivalent to a 30.5-61.5mm lens on a 35mm format camera, when mounted on a Pentax Digital SLR, which is neither very wide, nor very telephoto.
First of all I can't give an extensive review for this lens since I only had it a couple of weeks. Maybe after a few months I'll update this review to give you a better perspective on how I feel about this lens.
Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Expensive Lens Cap, Limited focal range
I bought this lens during a special offer period, and it has hardly been off my K-5 since. My previous standard zoom was the 16-45 which was itself a step up from the kit zoom, but the images from the 20-40 have something about them. Flare resistance is incredible.

Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Weather sealed
Big, Expensive, Limited zoom range
This lens is not perfect but it is light, compact, well built, and weather sealed. Image quality is very sharp wide open and excellent stopped down. In general I find this lens renders colors very, very well. Things just pop in a similar way to how they pop from a Pentax DA* 55mm.
