I did not believe that such a small sensor as 4.7 x 6.2 mm with 16 Mpixels (3456 by 4608) could be very good. The TS30 proved me wrong, or at least not entirely right. Out of the box, the camera can produce decent, if not great, photos at low ISO ratings.
Don't buy the product. The picture quality is very low, below all expectations. All other stuff in the package is useless, except the card and the card reader.
Great camera I got for my daughter. The underwater ability goes with her new interest in snorkeling. Small enough to carry with her anywhere and easy to shoot a picture.
I had only one issue with this camera. Actually 2. Both could be attributed to the owner ME.Dut to placement of the lens I kept putting my finger over it when using it underwater - be careful. The other is. It does way to much.
Pros:- inexpensive- small, lightweight (maybe the smallest waterproof camera)- seems rugged, well madeCons:- terrible picture quality (often overexposed) on par with iPhone 3I'll be selling mine and finding something better. Why take bother taking bad photos?
Gave it to my niece for her travels. I trust Lumix and with her being very tough on equipment this is perfect for her.
So I read the reviews and it looked like people were happy. When they said the camera took great pics, they said they were at Sea World in a pool swimming with dolphins or something similar. If you are in a clear pool, go for this camera! If you are in a moving, living ocean, don't do it.
Leaked water on first beach use despite following directions and keeping battery door locked etc. I ordered it a while before our vacation so I could get to know the controls...which means I'm now past the 30-day return period.
All in one package was very convenient for ordering especially under conditions of ordering in mass quantities for inspection photos for a large project site. The 32 GB card was a blessing with the extra batteries.
I needed a new camera after my old Samsung died after 10 years of service. I did a lot of research, I wanted a camera that would do well in all sorts of outdoor weather and would take great kid shots. I love the great outdoors and this camera is wonderful. Its dust and waterproof.
