I wanted a light travel camera which also could accept my other Lumix lenses if needed. It is great for the purpose. I purchased 2 extra batteries. To bad that batteries have to be charged only when in the camera.
Like many, I was looking for a compact camera with a 4/3 mount. I have a GX8, I have a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema. I even have a LX10! And I have many 4/3 lenses across the board. This would be major overlap but I found it for $338 body only, so I figured why not?
The best thing about this camera is the MFT mount and the sensor size. It actually takes decent stills, AND decent video if you don't care about manual exposure control. It has no video mode. You hit the video button from any mode and it automatically compensates for exposure. Can't disable it.
I purchased this camera for two reasons: travel photography and interior car video shots. I'm invested in the Panasonic family, have a GH4 and GH5, and an older camcorder.I wanted something that had interchangeable lenses, would shoot 4k, and was small and lightweight. This fits the bill.
I got this at a great price. No complaints. I'll get some use out of this once I learn how to use its feature fully. I don't like that the manual does not explain every feature and some areas are left for you to figure out.
I like the look and feel of the camera. I like the quality of pictures it takes. I’m not a huge photographer so I don’t know if there are special settings issues for those people. But my biggest concern is the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity.
Great little camera for the price. Very well designed.
Trying to use the wi fi function on this camera is a nightmare. I am returning the camera. I read the manual and followed all of the instructions, I looked online, I tried repeatedly to connect it to my smartphone, and yes I downloaded the app to the smartphone. I am returning it.
This is a great little camera if you are looking for a tiny interchangeable lens camera. It has the same sensor as the more expensive GX85 and G85, but is much smaller. This means that you can use your Micro 4/3 lenses with this tiny little body.
I'm a frequent flyer and I love taking photo. Usually, I use my phone to take pictures because it's convenience. However, sometimes the phone cannot get the job done well. I have couple SLR cameras but they are too big for business trip as I always try to pack 1 carry on luggage.
