Very easy to navigate and use. Love the articulating screen. It is a pleasant experience using the GX850. My only complaint is that it makes skin look processed (smoothed). It does have a "Silky Skin" setting, but even without it, skin looks kind of unnatural. This is my first four-thirds camera.
The camera is a real piece of art, from an aesthetic standpoint. It is beautifully made and looks very clean and modern. It also has some pretty impressive abilities for such a small body, and the kit lens consistently produced sharp pictures. Unfortunately, there are a couple of gotchas.
Great size for travel, high quality images, easy to use software, easy connectivity with iPhone and iPad. Love having interchangeable lens options.
Having used the GX850 a lot more, and now that Lightroom supports its RAW files, I withdraw my earlier criticism about the unusual skin rendition. While skin does appear overly silky in the jpg's, the RAW images are much better. I bought this camera because it shoots in RAW, and I am very happy.
First, let me say that I love the brightness of the screen and the way it articulates, as well as the small size and super light weight unit. And the fact that you can change lenses it a big plus as well. However, it does take a couple of seconds to come on and with that.
Super compact, even for a micro 4/3 camera. The good: It's a 4/3 camera with full functionality and compatibility with 4/3 lenses. Takes crisp, sharp images. It's fast and easy to use. Battery life is good. Extra batteries are cheap.
Great iteration of the MFT cameras, which lately have grown to the size of some DSLRs. Very fast focus, quite sharp photos even with the kit zoom lens. Somewhat larger than the GM1/5 but probably the smallest MFT you can currently get and pairs better with most MFT zoom lenses than the GM1/5 cameras...
The only thing small about this lens is size, but don't let that fool you. The build quality is excellent as well as how well this little guy performs. The range, 35 to 100 mm is great for a walk around lens, which is what I am doing now. The sharpness, wide angle all all really good for the money.
