It's easy to see why the Olympus TOUGH range is so popular. Few other rugged water-proof compacts provide such a wide range of features. There are models with longer zoom ranges and others that will allow you dive deeper, but the TG4 allows you more control and a wider choice of options, whether...

  • +

Water-proof to 15 metres., Bright f2-4.9 4x zoom lens., RAW shooting., Good Wifi and GPS with depth/altitude., Great macro modes.

  • -

No 60p video modes., No HD slow motion modes., Poor strap design.

The Preview Olympus' Tough Series of Life Proof cameras has a new flagship for 2015. The Stylus TG-4 takes the baton from the TG-3 with the same 50-foot waterproof, 220-pound crushproof, 7-foot shockproof, 14°F (-10℃) freezeproof, and dustproof ratings as before.

  • +

iAuto shooting mode is accurate and easy in all situations, Dedicated Video Capture Button is always ready to record, Outstanding macro shooting mode with LED light, "Tough" features: Waterproof, Dustproof, Shockproof, Crushproof and Freezeproof protect the camera all the time, Mega O.I.S.

  • -

Low ISO images were blotchy, not as sharp as we hoped, Some noise in all images / which is typical with most smaller 16-megapixel image sensors, Screen can be hard to see underwater, Weak built-in flash

As a tough snapshot camera (the third one I have in past ten years) meet my excpectations. Image quality is worser than expected, but better than the previous ones I experienced yet. This is the first camera I have ever purchased that did not come with a battery charger.

  • +

Easy to Use, Macro Capability, Raw Ability, Wifi Performance

  • -

    Poor Image Quality

I upgraded from the TG-3, which I loved, because I have it away. After buying a few other brands of waterproof cameras for use on remote fishing trips, I have found the TG line as by far the best. This TG-4 version to have added a wireless photo transfer function that is wonderful.

  • +

Great pics and vidsAbove and below water use

  • -

    Rechargeable batteries

I had to return the first one due to a manufacturing defect. Return went smoothly. New camera is great. I had the TG2 and loved it. The TG3 is similar with some enhancements . I only wish I could trade it for the TG4 that just came out. I high within a week of the TG4 hitting the market.

I have just begun using it. The back screen scratches very easily and I have not found the wire to download pictures into the computer from the camera. It does not seem to come with the camera.

This is the best point and shoot, pocket camera I have ever used. The color rendering is exceptional for such a camera, and the iAuto mode works well. That is takes JPG+Raw is a big plus for me because I value the ability to creatively edit the raw version of some of my photos.

This camera is great, but you have to manually turn GPS on and off. If you leave it on and turn off the camera, the GPS continues to drain the battery.
