If you're a photographer with kids, you'll understand the desire to equip them with a camera that can survive pretty much anything they throw at it - or drop it into. Waterproof tough models are ideal since they can survive drops, sand, snow or total submersion in liquids, but equally you want one...
Previous versions of this camera have been criticised for the image quality not being up to standard, for the low build quality and the “dumbing down” of controls. It's easy to do, but just for a moment step back and take a look at what you have here.
If you’re after a waterproof camera that’ll withstand plenty of abuse and yet won’t break the bank, the Coolpix S33 is a solid choice. It’s one of the cheapest rugged and waterproof cameras on the market, and it’s also one of the easiest to use, with a super-simple control layout and menu system.
Relatively cheap, Very easy to use, Fun, effects, Full HD video capture, Respectable waterproofing and toughness, Available in several colours
Mediocre image quality, Restrictive wide-angle focal length, No image stabilisation, Low resolution screen, No manual ISO adjustment, Almost identical to the camera it replaces
My wife bought a Coolpix S33 from The Source and took it with her to Cuba.On the first use it collected water inside and shut down, only got a couple of pictures.I took it back to the Source, who told me that it was not an underwater camera and I was out of luck.Well, on the box it says it's good to...
Worked well during a 16 rafting trip, and I use it now when hiking. Not the fanciest camera, but it was inexpensive and seals well so splashed water has no effect expect when left on the lenses (just needs to be gently wiped off). Wish the zoom was better, but again, it is an inexpensive camera.
It was great for our vacation. Took underwater photos and videos. The bonus is it takes great regular photos and videos. I didn't have to take two cameras. I suggest getting an extra battery. Maybe this isn't the quality of a $500 camera but it was perfect for a family vacation.
Good camera for the price. Image quality is about on par with a good smart phone. Very easy to use. I bought the camera to take with me when I go fishing to photograph and release my catch. The camera suits my purpose fine.
Easy to Use, Small / Compact
Poor Image Quality
This camera was purchase for my daughter vacation, it became unusable when there was a temperature change in the camera, both the lens and viewfinder window quickly fogged up making the camera virtually a total fail, The camera will take approximately 15 minutes to adjust so as long as there isn't...
Limited Zoom, Poor Image Quality, Quickly To Fog Up
Haven't used it much, yet. Bought it when my 5000 took a wave and was in the shop. Battery life is too short. And of course the images do not compare to the SLRs. But, looking forward to shooting underwater with it. Mayhaps it will redeem itself.
perfect camera for my fishing expeditions. Simple to use, takes great pics underwater. Reliable,at an affordable price.
High res camera that is waterproof, and its a nikon! Good price!
Good quality camera, totally waterproof, takes nice photos.
Very happy with this product. It was laying in the water at the bottom of my kayak on and off for 4 hours, with no issues.
