I recently purchased and tried this lens extensively paired with the D3400 camera before sending it off to replace my son's older model 55-200 stolen from him in London. Although this lens sports a polycarbonate lens mount, it feels robust, and the manual focusing action is beautifully smooth and...
fast AF, sharp too ; maybe not so good when it's a bit dark. it replaces a similar lens that wouldn't AF any more. I think maybe the old heavy-metal 75-300 was better, when it was young.
Lightweight, Quick Focus
I received this as a kit lens with the purchase of a D5300. This is a great lens, color rendition is perfect, focus is tack sharp, zoom range is great. Works perfect as a portrait lens in the 70mm to 140mm range, at iso 100 and F8 will easily make a 20x30 print crystal clear.
The zoom and crisp quality of the pics is great. Would definitely recommend adding to the kit.
The product is very good !!!
My granddaughter loves this lens
In use for sports photography, does well for outdoor field sports (Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Lacrosse). Glass is too slow for indoor use. Lightweight, functional photo quality is good, autofocus could be a little faster but not a significant determent.
This zoom lens is powerful but lighter in weight than ones I have used before - which is good! I have since bought a lens hood and UV filter, and a cap keeper so I won't lose that lens cap anytime soon. This lens is sharp, quick focusing, and it makes it easy to frame a subject.
This came with my Nikon D3400, so I probably wouldn't have sprung for it right away. Now that I have that extra zoom capability, in a fantastic Nikon lens, I don't know how I could be without it.
i liked it came in a bundle with my 3400 so i just wish stabilization
