You have to admit we live in very interesting times. Not long ago we tested the humble Korean Samyang 2/135 which was able to compete on equal terms with the significantly more expensive Zeiss Apo Sonnar 2/135, a top-of-the-range product, the best German optics specialists and Japanese factories can...

completely metal casing,, sensational image quality in the frame centre,, very good image quality on the edge of the APS-C/DX,, good image quality on the edge of full frame on stopping down to an area near f/2.8–4.0,, slight distortion,, very nice blur,, not especially bothersome vignetting, taking...

a bit too high longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration at the maximum relative aperture,, weak performance against bright light.
This lens is the best prime I've owned. The lens is solid metal and glass. The lens is exceptionally sharp, and colors are reproduced perfectly. if you like Zeiss lenses, you'll like this one because this is better in my opinion. It is a declicked aperture that turns very smoothly.
this is a great lens. Build is very solid. The lens is heavy only in comparison to the native FE lenses (it's equal to the Nikon 85.) I personally like it more than he Canon 85mm 1.2. The only downside is that on the lower apertures the bokeh looks more ghosted than the Canon and Nikon up till F2.
the lens construction is solid and well built but the hood that comes with is a piece of junk. all manual still learning how to use it but i have attached a few pics. I will buy it again
Even in 1080p, this lens is unusably soft. It also has terrible chromatic aberration. I've tossed out almost every shot taken with it. Worst lens purchase I've ever made.
When I first got this lens, I loved it - the optics are great and it's an inexpensive 85 1.2 - maybe not as nice as the Canon but very nice, and in a native Sony mount. However, the focusing ring has gotten extremely lose - there's more than 1 inch of play now where you can start turning and it just...
Purchased this lens because the reviews on the internet were comparing it to the canon 85mm 1.2 in sharpness etc. received the lens and the focus ring had a few cm of play. I use lenses primarily for video and couldn't deal with the lack of breathing room. Returned it and kept my 85 1.4 Zeiss.
