When you think of creative lenses, it’s hard not to think of Lensbaby, with its optics offering a unique blend between tilt and shift and the freelensing technique... The Spark has a fixed f/5.6 aperture with a 50mm focal length and it includes a plastic lens element attached to a set of bellows.

The Lensbaby Spark is certainly a fun lens to use. It can take a while (or a certain frame of mind) to achieve results that you'll be proud to share, but once you get into the flow anything's possible.

This is a Lenbaby so you get limited sharpness with creative out of focus areas. You need to use fingers from both hands as the spring-loaded center tube will not stay in place, but always wants to straighten out (unlike the photo).

Not at all what I was hoping for but gave it a try anyway out of curiosity. It's definitely for a beginner. You could get the same effect in PSP and look cleaner within a few moments of editing.

Im enjoying this little lens a lot. I wasnt sure what to expect, so I went in with an open mind. It takes some getting used to with the biggest challenge being low light. We are still getting to know each other, but so far I like this lens, and would encourage others to try one as well.

Maybe it's just my particular camera body (Nikon D3200) but since you can't adjust the aperture or shutter speed while this lens is on the camera body I have to change to a different lens, choose my aperture and shutter speed, then change back to the Spark to soot each picture.

It isn't the most sophisticated piece of equipment, but it does exactly what it says its going to. Having to depress the lens to get your selected focus is difficult to get use to, and keeping it steady to hit the shutter is something you need to practice with.

Definitely a learning curve since I'm used to only shooting with wide f/ ranges. But I like it when I do get the focus correct! *Image attached to this review is property of Ashley Cox Photos and may not be reproduced or used without explicit written consent from Ashley Cox Photos- All rights...

The selective focus is nice, but the visual effect isn't as artistically pleasing as the Lensbaby Muse.

I have only used my new Spark a few times outside, but I can see that it will be a good tool to create some interesting looking images. It is limited due to the fixed aperture 5.6, but for the price it's a fun lens to use.

I like the effect but wasn't able to get anything reasonably close to being sharp in the areas that needed to be sharp, like the subjects eyes. If it were just a soft focus on the eyes that would be fine but this wasn't even in the ball park. Even using live view to focus didn't help.

This is such a fun lens. Takes some practice to get the focus though. Be patient and it will pay off! I also have the creative aperture kit for it. Love it!!
