This exquisitely compact lens offers state-of-the art construction and a very useful maximum aperture. In addition to excellent overall image quality, it provides very good contrast, outstanding flatness of field, impressive chromatic correction, and minimal distortion.
Compared to the Summicrons or the Summilux you will only sacrifice a fast aperture. Even in low light it's not such a handicap anymore, given the high ISO performance of modern digital cameras.
I have used Leica cameras for a long time. I like them because they are light weight, require you to slow down and think about what you are doing and they are extremely well made.Just my opinion, but I do not believe the the Summilux lenses are worth the extra money.
These new summarits are only slightly cheaper than the crons, which I think is now just a reflection of the max aperture; Build quality is top notch, on par with other Leica lenses, Image quality is great. I prefer it to the cron due to better bokeh.
