Solid performing A/C
This is the second Texas summer with the LG A/C, and so far I am completely happy with the performance; I mostly cool a 500 sq ft area (master bedroom and bathroom), and it can easily keep the area way colder than most people like; when I have the door open to the rest of the house (1100 sq ft), it can still keep the house comfortable; the A/C is fairly quiet, even when the compressor turns on & off. I plan to purchase either a second one, or spend the extra money on a LG Dual Inverter A/C. the only thing that I wish LG would improve is their SmartThinQ app, it is sluggish on my iPhone 7 Plus; other than that, I would recommend this A/C

It works but you'll need to use wifi
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a few complaints about this air conditioner first that it's remote has a ridiculously short range for such a large BTU unit. Secondly unlike other brands not only does it not feature an air cleaner (ionic) the remote doesn't communicate the temp of the room to the unit (which I suppose is just as well considering the god awful range.) So this means you'll have to decide what temp to set the unit based on your comfort level. I do like that it's reasonably quiet, its high err rating, and the wifi control, but not having something to cut down on pollen when you use it on fan mode bringing in cooler air from outside is annoying. 3.5 stars rounded to 4.

Very disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this new unit less than a week and it has been nothing but problems. This is a replacement for the exact same model that lasted just 4 years before the thermostat stopped functioning. This one seems to have the same problem. Actually, this one's problem seems to be much worse. I am sitting here right now with it turned to 65 degrees in an effort to get it to cool - room temperature is now climbing to over 80. The compressor kicks in but stops either immediately or after much too short a period to cool the room. Bad news - I have a brand new air conditioner that does not work and this is the first day of a forecast 7-day heat wave.

Substitute for aging central AC
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My house was built in 1959, and the original air handler works great. The outside compressor unit is almost twenty years old and has required DIY repairs every year for the past 9 years such as replacing the blower motor or capacitor and tinkering with the thermostat wires. This season I decided to try a different approach by installing this window unit in a centrally-located room of the house. The vents are oriented to blow toward the kitchen & living room, and the other bedrooms have fans to circulate air with the rest of our 1400 sq.ft. house. It works so well I don't plan on replacing the old central AC unit because that would cost 15 times as much!

Excellent product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This AC is so good that when my last one went out and the extended warranty had been expired for a while, I knew this was the exact one I wanted. Love the App that enables you to adjust settings from your phone and check the filter and smart diagnose any issues that might arise. I really like that the AC comes out of it's case, so you can install just the case first and then the AC unit. It cools well in the southern heart and humidity. Well worth the purchase.

Works perfect, and WiFi technology is awesome
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you bought this online I recommend before turn on AC wait until 24 hours (you know by this how is the transport of packages), about the WiFi technology form AC I tested both on/off with my WiFi and cellphone network.. I don’t had any problem.
All set up made for me from app works fine.
The only thing I have to see for how long gonna works fine :D

Great little unit!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a unit that I could run off a generator and at least cool some of my house and this surely works! It's installed in a Florida room approx. 10'x22' (220sf) and I can run it with the sliding glass door open and cool my living room, dining room and kitchen to a comfortable/reasonable temperature. Love the Wifi and scheduling feature as I programmed this unit to run periodically through the hottest part of these Florida summer days and a little less through the night. I like the fact that these newer units use less electricity, I was able to run this off a Topshak 1000wh portable battery generator for a few minutes then it kicked off. Might need a more beefy portable generator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] a month later and iam so pleased with this product. my wifi hooked up quickly to it..and no problems there.i change temp on the app while am at work so when i get home its perfect room temp in my tv room..I have google asst so imtred that out and google does what i say, like can you set temp to 71 degrees.So i few seconds later you hear a beep, then google confirms that your setting is now on 71 degrees.I also tell it to turn it off or lower speed while am doing other things and bamm its done..Wow love this model air conditioner... thanks LG.....
