Subtle improvements LG made to its OLED line for 2017 were significant enough to get us just that much more excited for OLED TVs, and the LG C7 OLED is the best choice of the crop. Simply put, you can’t buy a better TV in 2017. No. This is the best TV you can buy.
Best picture quality ever, Outstanding HDR performance, A joy to use, Beautifully designed
OLED remains expensive
The OLEDC7P series of OLED TVs continues LG's trend of offering superb picture quality in a gorgeous, minimal design. But you'll pay handsomely for it.
Fantastic picture, with perfect black levels and wide, accurate colors. Attractive, minimal design.
Expensive. WebOS lacks some connected services.
The LG C7 is the best overall TV we've ever tested, but patient shoppers are likely to be rewarded by price drops in the coming months.
The LG C7 is the best-performing TV we've tested to date. It delivers perfect black levels, wide viewing angles, accurate color and a great bright-room picture. It's compatible with both major HDR formats, and HDR image quality is better than last year.
It's really expensive, and prices are likely to drop. Other 2017 TVs we haven't yet reviewed might perform even better.
LG's OLEDs are getting better, but will the price ever come down?
The LG E7 OLED offers the best picture quality and user experience money can buy, but unless you need the slick picture on glass design and premium audio, the less expensive LG C7 OLED makes more sense. Yes.
Gorgeous design, Excellent user interface, Great out-of-box picture performance, Wide viewing angle, Solid sound quality
LG C7 performs just as well for far less, Soundbar can’t be removed or tucked away
The LG OLED55C7V delivers some of the best picture quality you’ll see all year.
Infinite contrast thanks to true blacks, Wide viewing angles, Rich, natural colours, Superb gaming responsiveness
Trouble handling interlaced video, Less bright than high-end LED LCDs for HDR
LG says this C7 performs exactly like the B7, and we agree. We experience almost no differences in the picture quality, and those we do notice (a very slightly warmer image on the B7) are ever so slight. So if the C7 is the same as the B7, it gets the same score – a full five stars.
Awesome OLED picture quality, with added brightness, Natural picture, Supports all HDR formats, Neat, unfussy design, Great for gaming
The Sony A1 is a punchier performer
Delivering exceptional contrast, vibrant colours and superb gaming responsiveness, the LG OLED55C7V will likely end up being one of the best televisions you can buy in 2017. That it’s the most affordable 2017 OLED TV this year to offer multi-HDR support (HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision, plus Technicolor...
Unless you have even more money than the typical OLED TV shopper, you should choose the less expensive version of this TV.
With the exception of other 2017 OLED TVs, the LG E7 outperforms every other TV we've tested. It delivers perfect black levels, wide viewing angles, accurate color and a great bright-room picture. It's compatible with both major HDR formats, and HDR image quality is better than last year.
It has the same image quality as less expensive LG OLED TVs.
LG's OLED55C7V is vanishingly different to its B7V stablemate, but the picture performance is just as perfect
Stunning contrast, True blacks, Amazing gaming experience, Class-leading HDR format support
Interlace artefacts on 50Hz video, No Dolby Atmos sound from 4K Blu-rays

Dark room viewing
Bright room viewing, gradient in sky scenes
Upgraded from a 6 yr old Panasonic plasma this is far superior to LCD. Wide viewing angles are perfect, blacks are pitch black. Out of the box the colors are okay, but ended up turning off the power save, and all the extras like motion, color enhancement, etc.
Love the LG 4K, wonderful picture. I would buy one for every room if I could.
Although it takes for me to received my order longer, it is worth the wait. My new Tv replaced my 10 year old HD Sony Tv. It was so easy to install. From the wall I connected the cable to my cable box.
Unbelievable clarity and blacks that are really black. I use a Marantz SR6011 for my surround sound but when I was doing setup I used the TV speakers. They are not bad! If I had this in my bedroom I would be very happy with the sound produced.
Lots of HDMI side facing plus one backfacing makes connections easy
None so far.
Have had the Tv for a month and very impressed with the performance, certainly lives up to its reputation.I watch a lot of sport and nature shows and the colours of the bush and landscape are so true to life its almost like being there.
My new 55" LG OLED TV has lived up to what I wanted. Color and picture looks so good you could lick the screen. Best of all I no longer have to put up with the motion blur (skin crawl) that I was watching on my 55 inch Samsung that I bought new in 2014. Watching golf and football is way way better.
It's all good.
Absolutely awesome picture. Perfect blacks. Wanted an OLED for a couple of years and finally pulled the trigger. Worth every penny.
This tv is the greatest.
