I had purchased some other lower-end reference Klipsch bookshelf speakers for surrounds a few months ago. Those sounded really good. However, once I saw that the RP-502S were on sale and have better specs (100w and 95dB sensitivity, plus the unique design), I wanted to give them a try.
Wide sound dispersion.Higher power rating and sensitivity to match my amp and front and center Klipsch speakers.Looks cool.
Wall-Mounting seems to be challenging.
I get really clean sound from these speakers. I have them located 7' above the floor angled down to ear height at the listening positions.
Incredible sound I had the r14s before and now big difference along with my center 504c sounds great
I use these for the rear surround. They work out perfectly because, though my back wall is close to our seating area it is hard to sometimes tell exactly where behind you the sound is coming from. The sound doesn't shoot right into the back of your head. For those of you who have a smaller space.
These are bigger than the specs might suggest, that was a little concerned initially, however they worked out fine physically. The sound is simply spectacular. These are coupled with a Klipsch R34c centre channel speaker and Klipsch R-40SA rear speakers.
3-dimensional clarity, it's like being in a really good movie theatre.
Bipole speaker. Good sound. I wanted them because the wall that I hung them on is right behind my listening position (so one side points at the listener). If I could have hung them several or more feet behind me, I would have chosen a directional speaker and pointed it at the listening position.
They sound amazing. I actually am using them for front speakers. I am pretty much the only person in my basement, so I do what I want. Saying this, it was an experiment and it just so happened to fall in the RP-502S favor.
Great Highs and Lows. Plenty of sound making ability to use as a small front speaker.
Don't have any cons, yet.
I bought these RP-502S speakers for my home theater build out for the surround left and right along with the surround back speakers. They are crystal clear and VERY dynamic for Dolby surround, ATMOS, DTX Master audio, etc. You will not regret your purchase of these speakers for your media room!
I have Klipsch speakers in my system and have enjoyed the sound they produce. These compliment the speakers I have. They produce great sound and we're at an amazing price point.
Relatively small foot prone, especially if you are wall mounting
Not a con of the speaker, but I was unable to find mounting brackets and had to come up with my own solution.
As I was slowly upgrading my system I decided to add these as rear surrounds to complete my Klipsch 5.2.2 Dolby Atmos setup. R620F fronts towers, R52C center, R41SA front heights & with the RP502S for rear surrounds. They open up the rear sound field more than I had even hoped for.
