It wasn’t a sure thing that the Pixel Buds Pro would turn out to be good. Google has had a mixed, inconsistent track record with wireless earbuds so far. The original Pixel Buds in 2017 had such an unconventional design that something as fundamental as putting them back into the case was overly...

  • +

Good active noise cancellation, Improved sound and lengthy battery life, Multipoint support, No more frequent audio dropouts

  • -

Transparency mode isn’t as good as it could be, No support for advanced Bluetooth codecs, Audio fidelity falls short of the very best earbuds, Mic quality could still use some work

The Google Pixel Buds Pro are satisfactory for neutral sound. Although our graphs show that they have a fairly flat sound, their real-life sound is more v-shaped. It's likely due to the buds popping out of our test rig's ears since even in their smallest size, they don't fit the ears well.

  • +

Consistent audio delivery., Graphic EQ and presets available in companion app.

  • -

Depending on your ear shape, buds can pop out of your ear., Bad passive soundstage.

“They're the best earbuds for Android fans.”

  • +

Compact and comfy, Very good sound quality, Very effective ANC/transparency, Wireless charging, Bluetooth Multipoint

  • -

No real EQ adjustments, No high-quality/low-latency codecs, Still no iOS Pixel Buds app

The all-new Pixel Buds Pro are packed to the brim with cool features, including a long battery life, hands-free Google Assistant, and finally, an ANC mode. They truly offer an exclusive experience, but at $200, you need to be okay with somewhat-underwhelming sound quality.

  • +

Impressive ANC and Transparency modes, All-day battery, Hands-free Google Assistant, Bluetooth Multipoint support, Very comfortable design

  • -

Scooped mid-range frequencies, lacks energy and punch, AAC and SBC codecs only, Some features don't work on iPhone, Custom EQ and Spatial Audio aren't available at launch

The Pixel Buds Pro bring ANC to the series and tight Android integration, but they're missing a few features at launch....

  • +

ANC with transparency mode, Hands-free Google Assistant access, Water-resistant case and buds, Wireless and fast USB-C charging, Above average battery life, Fast Pair and Bluetooth multipoint

  • -

No equalizer, AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs only, no aptX, Fit is a bit loose for some people, Missing features at launch, Relatively high asking price

Over the past couple of years I have tested many wireless earbuds as the earbud form factor is my preference for smartphone, tablet, and watch audio. We had a glimpse of Google's Pixel Buds 2 at the Made by Google event last fall, but they were just made available last week.

  • +

Excellent secure fit, Supports individual earbud use, Full featured Android support, Matte finish carrying case, Wireless charging support for battery case, Reliable, simple touch controls, Solid battery life

  • -

No ANC functionality, Limited iOS capability, No equalizer or advanced audio settings

Google goes Pro: With its new Google Pixel Buds Pro, the tech company wants to play in the same league as Apple’s AirPods Pro or Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. The search engine giant has equipped its new True Wireless in-ears with active noise cancellation (ANC) and transparency mode and wants to...

The smallest member of the Pixel family hits the spot.

  • +

Compact and really nice earbuds, Good fit, The sound is very good and the bass excellent.

  • -

IPX4 protection only, Touch control of earbuds is always a hassle - there's just no better alternative.

Time really can fly when it’s the summer, product events keep popping off, travel happens, and everywhere you turn there’s another device to add to the review list. I mention all of that because we gave you our “first listen” thoughts on the Google Pixel Buds Pro almost a full month ago. I have...

Hardware’s long been a struggle for Google. Sure, the company has dominated many fields over the years, but it’s hard to shake the sense that it’s always harbored jealousy over what companies like Apple and Samsung have achieved on that front.

As a Google Pixel phone user, these earbuds perfectly assimilate into the Google ecosystem. The noise cancelling is a huge plus especially in noisy situations. They are more comfortable than the first generation Pixel Buds, but there is still room for improvement. Overall, a great addition.

  • +

    Noise cancelling, adjustable bass.

    Fit isn't quite perfect.

Not as secure as pixel buds series, A. Running in these I feel like they’re going to fall out. Although I love the fact I can connect my iPhone and android at the same time. I also can play music on one and answer calls on the other with no issues.

Maintains connections and switches audio seamlessly between my Pixel phone and my Lenovo laptop. Very easy to configure on my phone, reliable Bluetooth, easy to configure and use. Noise-cancelling works great and people on calls say my voice is clear.

  • +

Good sound and noise cancelling.Solid bluetooth.Easily prioritizes between 2 devices.

  • -

Supports simultaneous connection to only 2 devices.

Have been using for a few weeks now. ANC is excellent, the touch control options are great too! Was surprised that I could control volume, skip song, back song and ANC all on the buds. Would highly recommend, particularly for Pixel phone users!

I love that I can skip songs, turn up/down, pause, access Google assistant, and more all with just the earbuds. Good quality sound and the active noise cancellation works great. They fit easily in my ears with the smallest buds and stay in with activity. I am so glad I purchased these.

I've never used bluetooth earbuds before. I love these! It's so convenient to walk around without being tethered to the phone. The range is great, they fit well, and they are easy to use. Jut tap to pause a song or podcast, swipe to change the volume.

I expected these ear buds to come out of my ear easily and they stayed secure while I exercise at the gym. The only negative is that I reach up to push on them instinctively to make sure they are in my ear and they shut off the song, or they tell me the time and weather, and I have to restart or go...

Never really liked using or wearing Bluetooth headphones but I actually really like these. Very convenient and easy to use. Comfortable to wear and fits well in the ear. Takes some time getting used to with playing around on how to function it but over all I'll recommend it.

These are so awkward to get in the ears no matter what tip I try. They do however sound great. The noise cancelling feature is frankly a waste of time as I can still hear people talking around me.
