Thanks to Apple and Samsung with their smartwatches sporting vibrant, brilliant touchscreen displays, people have come to look for this type of display on other wearables. Dedicated GPS sports watches tend to focus on data capture accuracy with displays that are visible outside.

The Garmin Venu Sq is a great value for those who want an inexpensive fitness tracker, complete with GPS and long battery life. If you’re looking for one of the best fitness trackers for less than $200, you can’t do better than the Garmin Venu Sq.

Great selection of fitness and health features, Accurate, fast GPS, Great battery life, Good price

Poor app selection, Feels cheap

The Garmin Venu Sq is a well-priced and powerful jack-of-all-trades smartwatch, which cherry picks some of the best features of Garmin, Apple and Fitbit devices. It’s sports tracking focused, but doesn’t hold back in terms of wellness and body insights that cost a lot more elsewhere.

Stress, energy and respiration, Great price, Loads of sports profiles

“This is an excellent health and fitness watch at an affordable price.”

Take the Garmin Venu, replace the OLED with an LCD display, and cut the price nearly in half....
In an interesting contrast to yesterday’s Fitbit Sense review , the Garmin Venu SQ has actually grown on me slightly since I started using it (whereas I got more confused the more I used the Fitbit Sense).

Small, cheap and cheerful, the Garmin Venu Sq is a great Fitbit and Apple Watch alternative fitness watch for people on a tight budget. Being able to access premium Garmin sports features for such a friendly price is a real boon.

Decent battery life, Plenty of performance features..., ... As well as smart ones on board, Snappy touchscreen

No AMOLED display, Small screen, Garmin Connect app is geared towards athletes

The Garmin Venu Sq is a decent all-round performer, and we've not seen a Garmin watch with a color screen at this price point before. The problem is that the screen quality and design is inferior to the more expensive original Venu.

Feature-packed, Light and comfortable to wear, Works with external sensors

Slightly archaic watch UI, Lower quality screen than Venu, Missing altimeter

Sleep tracking didn’t work on our review sample, No altimeter, Inferior battery life

Display isn't the best, User interface might be a little too basic
I got this fitness tracker to replaced my Fitbit that broke. It is one of the best things I’ve ever bought. This gives me all the fitness matrix that I need and more. I used to use my phone to track my bike rides with Strava but was always concerned about draining the charge during a full day of...
A little confusing at first, but after a few weeks of use I'm really enjoying it. It's good for what I use it for and most data is accurate. I got a replacement band because the band included isn't all that comfortable, but there are plenty of 20 mm quick release available for a decent price.
Comfortable to wear, but the best feature was the super easy auto set-up when I turned it on. I bought it for the heart rate readings. Either I need to read up on how to download heart rate history to print, or maybe this is not a feature. Happy with the encouraging prompts to move.
I bought this watch a month ago! With very fashionable, also very beautiful, the function is also great! My friends asked me where I bought the watch! I am honored to tell my friend! Make me confident!
It arrived SO fast, for one. And two, it's just a wonderful product. I love all the capabilities, easy to wear and sync, and perfect for stepping up my fitness life.
It's okay. The watch seems to be well built. I am not a runner, so many of the features and add-ons are no use for me
The Sq Venu does a great job at tracking the most important data that I need, heart rate, the distance I cycled and the time of day! There is a learning curve to owning this watch. The data screens can be customized to show the 3 things at the flick of the wrist. The cycling program works great!
I had a Fitbit before the Garmin. I can honestly say that the Garmin system of doing things is much better at motivating me than Fitbit ever did. The watch is comfortable enough to wear while sleeping.
Functional watch, but the brightness settings kill it for me. Brightness settings are Low, Med, High. However each one is adaptive brightness. Adaptive brightness should be an option, not mandatory.
