Hoping for better on my second purchase
It is important to read my written review in addition to noting the limited multiple choice selections offered here. I purchased this exact model in August, 2018. It lasted 16 months. The only reasons I am taking a chance on replacing it with the same model: installation should not require alterations to mounting hardware or ventilation; it is reasonably priced so more cost-effective to replace than repair; it has the basic features I need in a microwave; I have had generally good experience with GE products before. I hope to get more than 16 months of service out of this one (4 months after the expiration of the manufacturers warranty).

Do Not Buy
I cannot recommend this microwave. I bought it to replace a 14-year-old Frigidaire that could not be repaired. I chose this GE model because I have no use for many additional features. However, the GE is extremely noisy and does not heat evenly. I almost have to go out of the room when it is running because of the noise. And I have to frequently stir food because of the uneven heating. Food that cannot be stirred remains hot in some areas and cold in others.

Extremely Disappointed!
My previous GE microwave last 15 years . I loved the SCREW IN BULB and I loved that it had TWO LIGHTS to cook stovetop by & I loved that it ran quietly.
I do not care for this microwave at all. If it lasts 5 years I’ll be surprised. I hate the 2 prong, ONE light to cook by. I’m now cooking in dingy light! This has cheap written all over it & runs cheap sounding. Why did GE change the bulb and backed off to ONE bulb to cook by? Who was in charge of that decision?! What happened to good all American workmanship!? I’m sorry I couldn’t give a better review. I only purchased this brand for the color bisque to match my other appliances & I needed a microwave fast.

Microwave works great
This is a purchased replacement from the corresponding model I had from a few years back. The microwave part is great, but the touch pad is 10 steps down from a previous model. It’s hard to see the what the buttons say (my vision is fine). They are no longer user friendly as far as the placement of those buttons. The touch pad is not responsive as the other models I’ve had. Need a flashlight to see it. Poor engineering. This is the 4th I’ve had, so I’m sure. I’d only recommend this model if they improved the touchpad. I just asked my husband what he thinks and he noticed the same issue. He never has an opinion on kitchen appliances, really!

Not very happy with installation. The paper template used for drilling holes is poor . I don't understand why the bracket on the wall and the holes in the tops are different from model to model..... Secondly, the unit once installed and the protective film removed from the stainless front showed a dent right out of the box! Not very happy but not going to uninstall since it was such a pain. The door doesn't quite line up with the top of the right side but the thing works. This is the third unit in 12 years. The second one a better model(installed 2016) just died after 3 years for no apparent reason after only being used for only 7 months a year.

Bought this unit to replace another GE microwave that was close to 10 years old. This unit was as close as I could come to the original unit. The reason that I do not give this unit a 5 star rating is the display. I did not know it was a white clock/timer display. The old one was green in color. The white light is hard to read and the numbers are too close together to see at a distance. The number pad is also hard to read. Not enough contrast from the printing on the pad to the black background of the pad to see in any thing but bright light. If I knew that the display and number pad was going to be a problem, I would not have bought this unit.

venting how you feel!
3 ways to vent your Microwave. most microwaves have only two. A top vent or rear vent. With GE you also get an in-line vent that vent out the front of the microwave to keep it from overheating. This allows the microwave to last much longer. I would have to say this is not the exact model that I had before, however, it looks exactly the same and it functions exactly the same. I loved that microwave and I’m glad that I could find one that’s almost identical. Venting means a lot when it comes to keeping the parts cool on the inside of the microwave so that you’re not ending up having to purchase another one anytime soon. Thanks G.E.
