Lint does not get caught in the dryer vent
I've owned the dryer for 5 months now and have had3 repair men come out and say there is nothing the matter with the dryer, however they have admitted there shouldn't be all that lint coming out and landing on my patio. Its a straight line less than 6' and after drying my clothes there is always little piles of lint on my patio. The excuse was given that it was my clothes softner doing that. Sorry i've owned different dryers and never ever had this problem Not a bit deal to some but I sit on my patio alot and tired of seeing link rolling down the pavement. My dryer vent is cleaned after each use so that is not the problem. Other wise it dryers ok if you don't mind the link going everywhere.

Excellent dryer minus obnoxious buzzer at the end
Excellent family dryer! Would recommend, but be aware this buzzer at the end of cycle is incredibly loud, and runs for about 5 full seconds. It is so loud that my family came running from their bedrooms when it went off for the first time, they thought it was on fire or something horrible had happened. I called our appliance store, they walked me though the buzzer disengage instructions which requires unscrewing the back panel. Now it’s perfect, with no end of cycle buzzer blaring through the house. If you have this dryer in your garage or unfinished basement, the buzzer would not be an issue, our dryer is on floor one hallway next to living room/kitchen.

Does everything as advertised
The Pros: No nonsense, controls, simple to operate, great, easy to clean upfront lint filter, does everything as advertised and you can sense the use of quality parts. The Cons: Perhaps the dumbest engineering mistake is that you can not turn off, or even turn down the volume of the end-of-cycle buzzer. The thing is so loud it scares my dog. You would think for the price GE could have, at least put in a toggle switch to turn the buzzer on and off. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with the machine and its performance.

Simplicity is often better.
We've had front loaders for years, three different brands and only one was really great, but they wouldn't fit in our new home, so we sold them and bought some that would fit and we were never pleased with their performance. When they broke down, we decided to look at the new GE front loaders, but we couldn't get the pedestals, so the gentleman suggested these and although they are front loader money, we decided to purchase them anyway and we couldn't be happier. This machine has easy to use controls and it does an excellent job drying our laundry. It actually dries our laundry much faster than our old dryer ever did.

Way too loud buzzer!
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the buzzer. It is the loudest and longest buzzer I have ever heard for an appliance. Plus there is no way to tone it down or stop it easily. Not only would we need to pull out the dryer, we would have to pull out the washer to get to the back panel of the dryer. Then we have to take off the panel and locate the buzzer. At that point we are unsure how to turn it off. Some online videos show wires have to be snipped or taped off. That is crazy. We had no idea the buzzer was automatically on or we would have had the installers take take it off. It really is a nuisance and certainly would wake up any others staying in the condo units.

Loudest buzzer I have ever heard
This dryer has functioned wonderfully, it drys items well and its operation is quiet. The matching washer has a pleasant chime when finished and I never thought to test its tone when a cycle is done. Whoever designed sound this machine makes when a cycle is complete is fully psychotic. Why!?!? It is like a tornado siren going off THREE times, what on earth were you thinking?! There is NO MUTE, why on earth wouldn’t you have a mute feature!? It’s awful, I can’t run the dyer before bed for fear of having a heart attack when it goes off in the night. If there was a way to turn it off without voiding the warranty or muting or lowering the volume this would be okay- but no, this is crazy.

Buzzer is ANNOYING!
We bought a commercial grade washer because we'd heard the quality of those was better. I wish we had done more research because we're 2 weeks in and already HATE this dryer. There is an EXTREMELY loud buzzer that goes off at the 2 minute and 1 minute remaining marks, with no way to turn it off. The buzzer lasts for about 10 seconds and can be heard throughout our entire house. Additionally, there is both a "More Dry" and timed-dry option. When using medium heat for our clothes, attempting both the timed-dry and "More Dry" settings, we've had to run multiple loads through multiple dry cycles. We regret buying this unit and unfortunately are not able to return it without paying a hefty restocking fee. Do your research before purchasing this unit.

Simple to use workhorse of a dryer
I purchased this commercial grade, simple features GE dryer about a month ago. I needed a dryer with a bit more modest dimensions and found this model was available to match a G.E. washer. So far, the machine has gotten a workout and done just fine. I'm satisfied with good drying times on a variety of loads from bedding to dress shirts and pants. It has all the basic functions down pat and well so. I thought I would miss the delicate heat level (it has high, medium ,and air fluff). I don't miss the low heat level and just use medium for a bit less time. So far, so good. Machine is quieter than expected too . That is important as the machine is close to my mancave. Two thumbs up.
