Door will not stay open
I do not have a problem with it other than the door; it may be a good product but the door will not stay open comes down on my head when I'm looking for things I had a service technician out to look at it and they said the four hinges need to be replaced I don't think that's the problem I think there should be an adjustment on the hinges you can tighten to keep the door open , so now they're going to have to come out and put on new hinges and I don't think it's going to fix it they also said it was because it was out of level but I think it is pretty level and I think the hinges are just not strong enough for this door

Really Big!
Just got it so can't yet comment on durability. This replaces freezer that was at least 45 years old and too small. Plenty of room in this one. Only freezer I could find with second sliding rail. Just ordered additional, very expensive sliding baskets. Did not care for divider that came with freezer. Saved wire baskets from old freezer and fit 5 along bottom. Lots of room. Cooled down very fast and thermometer placed in top basket reads -10f. Very quiet. Bright light inside. When first plugged in high temperature alarm will sound, just press reset to silence. Would have rated 5 stars but for the cost of additional baskets.

Our new GE chest freezer
We purchased this large freezer because it could be placed in our garage with no compromise on its ability to maintain the proper temperature and it was the only one that had an audible alarm for power interruptions. It is designed to be used in a garage or storage room or anywhere where the temp can go as high as 110 degrees.. The design of the basket system and dividing gates for the bottom are a real plus. I find it much easier to locate things and it seems to give us more room since things are more organized. I have had a freezer this size for the last 50 years but this is the best for food storage system I have ever had.

Piece of crap
Bought the freezer brand new and it was delivered on time. I let it set 2 days and plugged it in. High temp light and alarm immediately went off. Here it is a month later and the alarm is still going off and the high temp light is still on. The reset button resets it for about 30 minutes and then it goes off again. Freezer maintains a constant temperature of -20 degrees at the warmest setting and -30 degrees at the coldest setting which is probably to cold to last. Since day one I have called multiple times and also tried to schedule service on the GE website. I can’t get a service appointment no matter what I try. Poor product and the service is worse. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Frowning Lid Upon Delivery
After waiting weeks for this freezer it was delivered with a lid that would not seal. It appeared to be frowning at me. I am currently waiting for a brand new lid, my appointment is tomorrow, although I have not received a (separately shipped) replacement lid. Other notes are that it has no leveling feet or capability which I think is important for a freezer this size. The extension cord is rather short also. I do believe I am going to enjoy this once it is right. G.E. Saving grace is the service tech they sent me (#127), who was amazing. Old school repair customer service.

Super Large Freezer with Very SHORT Power Cord!
I feel lucky to have received the new garage chest freezer as all chest freezers are back ordered around the USA due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Though upon installation, I found the power cord wasn't long enough (maybe 5 feet of usable cord) to reach the 120v outlet (which is directly behind the freezer, 4 feet up the wall). Also, some of the plastic divider rail fasteners were already sheared off. The lid does lock, but it doesn't seem to close tightly (which will certainly cause excess frost inside). It's very large and will allow us to stock up on frozen food (we are already in mandated "shelter in place" mode while the stores are running low on items). It seems pretty cheaply made, but if it helps us for a year or so through this virus outbreak, we'll be happy.

Garbage from the start
We had high hopes for this freezer but that quickly came to an end. During the transfer from our 18cf, 26 year old GE freezer with no issues, we noticed the basket rails were very sloppy. Turns out some of the cheap plastic buttons that are embedded in the foam wall to support the rails were broken at assembly. This allowed the rails to flex and break. We finished loading it and started a warranty claim. After a week we noticed excessive ice building up on the inside. Come to find out the lid seal leaves a gap about 3 or 4 feet long. After a month they replaced the lid, that made it worse. Now we need to set heavy stuff on the lid to keep it sealed. It took 2 months to get them to find out that the rail buttons are not replaceable and no repairs are available. Now they will finally need to replace it. I have no confidence that the replacement will seal either, we'll see.

Does not seal
I got it, plugged it in to use, and then noticed the lid was not sealing in the front. There is a big gap that goes across about 5 feet across the lid. A bummer because I waited 3 months for it, and it is no longer available to order. GE sent a third party appliance repairman to check it out, and he said there is no way to repair it. Super disappointed after waiting so long and spending the money.
