Great Prices and Great Experience
"I’ve purchased two TVs through Greentoe, and both experiences have been excellent. Best prices I could find anywhere, and both TVs were delivered right to my door without any issues.
My only mistake was forgetting that Greentoe offers a lot more than just TVs! I recently purchased applioances elsewhere and afterward realized I should have checked Greentoe first.
Greentoe will definitely be one of the first places I check before making a major purchase. Let's get the word out, and let the free market dictate prices. Craig Barton Scottsdale AZ"View article

Spacious Chest Freezer
This freezer is exactly what we were expecting. Glad that we can put it in the garage as its "garage ready". Love the 4 baskets that came with it, but will probably remove the lower 2 as they can get in the way (yes, there is a lot in my freezer!). The interior light is nice and bright so I can see all the way to the bottom. I like having the Freezer Status Lights on the front, along with the temp dial. It would be nice if it was self defrosting, but it's really not a big deal. So far, so good. We have purchased other GE appliances in the last 18 months as well; a range w/cooktop and a mounted microwave. I've been very pleased with ALL of my GE appliances.

Works Well, But Noisy
We bought the freezer based on Consumer Reports recommendations. It replaced a freezer that lived in our garage but died after 19 years. Our garage in Texas gets hot (80 to 90 degrees) and the freezer runs a lot to maintain the temperature. I was surprised at how noisy it is while running: moistly annoying gurgling noises, rather than motor noise. I would not want to have this freezer near a living area. With the warmer temperature in the garage, my watt meter shows it using about 1.5 kWhr/day which is about double what the Energy Guide label says (277 kWh/yr = 0.75 kWh/day). I expect the usage to go down as the garage temperature moderates this fall and winter.

Good Freezer for the Price
Overall the unit is pretty solidly made. If like me, you intend to use this as a keezer, be aware that you can't simply shut the high temp warning alarm off. That means every time the unit kicks on, the alarm will beep incessantly until your temp controller shuts back off. You cn kill the alarm by pressing a button on the controller unit, but you'd have to do that each time the power cycles. It took some time and some tinkering, but I was able to reduce the alarm sound significantly - but not completely. While reasonable for typical use, it seems like the user should have the option to override this feature.

Nice freezer. Great features. Not disappointed.
We bought this freezer about 1 month ago. It has the same capacity as our old freezer, but it is longer and not as high. The walls are thicker for better insulation, and shorter so it is easier for my wife to reach the bottom. We love the interior light. The external indicator lights are great, so we can tell if it has power and the temperature is ok. The multi-level baskets are another great feature. These days it is difficult to get a large freezer, but our retailer had one of these in stock, in the box, so we bought it immediately, without even seeing it. But we certainly were not disappointed!

Simple yet efficient
This is just what I needed. A good stable unit that will hold lots of items and keep its temperature. Sure an upright freezer is easier for finding items, but if you use the baskets and add some extra crates you can organize. Although there really isn’t a good charge option that fits correctly with the baskets and rails. However, it works perfectly for what I need. Plus I don’t have to worry about someone leaving the door cracked open by accident.
What would be nice is a basket option for the bottom of the freezer and more baskets. But there are ways around that for now.

Big volume, easier organization.
Only have had the freezer for a few weeks, but so far it is working well and I love the big capacity. We buy large volumes of meat and preserve veggies for the winter, so this freezer has made a huge difference. I want the energy efficiency of a top-door chest freezer vs a stand-up, but organization is normally such a challenge - this freezer helps by having the two levels of sliding removable baskets. The only downside has been how heavy it is and that there aren't wheels on one end like some models have, but we were able to install it with two people without much issue.

Does a good job
This freezer works great! After 24 hours, we put in items from our upright freezer, and some new store-bought items; like ice cream, and we couldn't dig out the ice cream with our scooper! Had to let it set for about 15 minutes to be able to get a bowl. Love the space in it and the 4-baskets; two on each rail. Really easy to get items in and out and find them fast. Pretty hard to be excited about a freezer. If last more than 20-years...I'll be excited!
The only con we have is this thing sounds like a snowstorm is going off inside it -- super glad it's in the basement!

Great Chest Freezer with Great Features
This chest freezer was purchased to replace a smaller unit that was only 5 years old. The GE 15.7 cu ft freezer has much more storage and 4 very clever baskets that allow for different heights to fit below them. We really appreciate these features as well: quiet running, external lights to indicate power outage, interior light that shines brightly, self-holding hinged top, Energy-Star rating and low kWh use, sleek exterior design, and value.
