A valued yet well crafted spotting scope. It has enough zoom power and has very good light gathering ability even in a low light condition. At maximum zoom (at 67X), the view in the scope is still bright enough to see an object in detail with a minimal lose of focus.

First I get the Ultima 80 to watch the mountains from my balcony in Santiago,Chile and I start to watch the moon and some planets (Jupiter and Saturn looks small but very sharp and clear) and I liked so much that I want to improve it so I sell it and get Ultima 100.

I wanted a spotting scope for birding, nature watching and large planetary astronomy. The moon and larger planets are awesome. I am very happy with my purchase. Spend the money on a beefy, stable tripod however. This is not a toy. It is a well-made spotting scope that is on the heavy side.

Almost is just not good when using the eye peace that comes with this scope. When Zoomed out more then half it's power there is just a big fuzzy image. When not zoomed its ok.

Have had several cheaper, less powerful spotting scopes and have always been disappointed. This thing is incredible! Haven't given it a real workout yet but looking toward the nearest neighbor, about 1/4 mile away, on the 66X power setting I cannot just see the walnuts on their trees but can also...

A very good spotting scope for my bird watching - even in low light, dusk.
