The Canon XA30 is a professional grade, compact camera that you can make use of on numerous occasions – It’s an excellent choice for individuals ranging from student filmmakers to professional news crews.
Fun, useful little camera, but not really a pro camera IMHO. I've shot with Canon gear (C100, 5Dii, 5Diii) as well as Sony FS7. WHAT WORKS: Small. Convenient. Fantastic zoom range. And ??size. Love how small it is. WHAT'S JUST OK: The LCD is fine indoors. Marginal outdoors.
Better battery life than the XA20 or 25. All, XA 20,25 and 30 perform well giving a quality product. The major drawback is controls size for larger hands. Easy 4+ star rating.
Reliable with quality imaging.
Small controls for larger hands.
We are using the XA30 in our church to record the service, as well as providing a remote monitor with video and sound. The quality of the video is excellent. I save the recording to my laptop where I use Windows Movie Maker to produce an MP4 that we post on the website.
Excellent camera, however after a few months something in the zoom motor broke and now won't stay when zoomed in, zooming itself back out to the wide angle focal length on its own.
Great camera with super quality and relatively easy to use features. If you’re looking for a very capable run and gun camera that’s easy to grab and shoot, this is a great choice. I previously bought and used the XA25 with great results. So this was the easy pick for me.
Great camera! Awesome package.
discovered this model has a propensity to have a faulty zoom. Other than having to have it repaired, it is an amazingly high quality piece of equipment!
A great product that bridges the gap between amateur and professional. Easy to learn and the results of using it correctly are outstanding. One thing it should've come with is a lens protector for the core lens, but that's easy and cheap to buy separately.
This is my second XA 30. Love the quality, versatility, and ease of use. Small, but packed with tremendous amount of pro features. Can't say enough about it.
I use this camcorder to film civic theater. The video files are turned into DVDs for the cast to critique their performance. This camcorder is perfect for this job. Small, easy to operate, pro functions, and not over priced.
