A true, easy-to-use "point and shoot" that has advanced features you can ignore, or you can learn a few for even better shots. The easy-to-use 25X optical zoom gets nice and close to subjects and scenes without having to use the available digital zoom.
The Canon PowerShot SX620 HS is about as close to a PhD (Push here, Dummy) camera that you will find. I did a lot of research on various brands and models of cameras: I didn't need one with outrageous zoom, lots of bells & whistles, movable viewscreen (I won't be recording myself), etc.
1. Fairly easy to use.2. Takes quality photos (took one of the garden that even amazed the wife with its quality).3. Has enough zoom for when you need it.
1. Manual is a bit cumbersome.2. Missing a viewfinder eyepiece.3. No touch screen.4. Difficulties transferring wirelessly.
Love this camera. I am not knowledgeable in regards to the settings such as iso, etc and have only used this on automatic mode, but have gotten so great pictures. The zoom is fantastic, crisp and clear. Can't wait for nicer weather so I can shoot more outdoors.
I purchased the SX620 due to it's small size and weight. I thought I'd be more likely to carry it with me on a day to day basis because of it's light weight and small size. I've had and still use a G10.
My wife's very old camera was on its last legs so I gave this to her for Christmas. She started taking pictures around the house and snaps of relatives and was very happy with them. She loves the zoom for catching a photo of a person without having to get in their face.
This Canon Power Shot point and shoot camera was a birthday gift for my wife. We moved from the mountains to the valley of Northern California, and the movers lost several boxes of our belongings - one of which included her camera. The Canon was a replacement for her old 7 mp camera which she loved.
it works really well. the pictures are stunning and the camera is easy to work.
Love this little, mighty camera. Granted this isn't an EOS but it does slip into a small pocket and can take very nice pictures.
I have a Canon PowerShot A570 AS that I have had for a number of years. I really like the camera, but recently I noticed that the batteries had corroded inside and had ruined the contacts. I had to resolve to buy another camera.
I gave this camera to my husband as his holiday gift and he was over-the moon with joy. In 22 years of marriage, I've never scored such a success!!
Size, zoom, ease of use.
Nearly threw the memory stick out with the garbage as it was packed loose in the foam peanuts.
