A true, easy-to-use "point and shoot" that has advanced features you can ignore, or you can learn a few for even better shots. The easy-to-use 25X optical zoom gets nice and close to subjects and scenes without having to use the available digital zoom.
The Canon PowerShot SX620 HS is about as close to a PhD (Push here, Dummy) camera that you will find. I did a lot of research on various brands and models of cameras: I didn't need one with outrageous zoom, lots of bells & whistles, movable viewscreen (I won't be recording myself), etc.
1. Fairly easy to use.2. Takes quality photos (took one of the garden that even amazed the wife with its quality).3. Has enough zoom for when you need it.
1. Manual is a bit cumbersome.2. Missing a viewfinder eyepiece.3. No touch screen.4. Difficulties transferring wirelessly.
This camera is small and can feel "slippery" in your hands but it comes with a strap. The wifi connection was incredibly easy for me to figure out, took maybe an entire 10 minutes of fiddling. I connected the camera to my iPhone and the pictures went straight to my camera roll; it was awesome.
Love this camera. I am not knowledgeable in regards to the settings such as iso, etc and have only used this on automatic mode, but have gotten so great pictures. The zoom is fantastic, crisp and clear. Can't wait for nicer weather so I can shoot more outdoors.
The nice thing about the camera is the size and convenience. The bad thing is that it is almost impossible to focus. The result is photo quality akin to a Kodak Brownie in the 1940s. This is especially true in its telephoto range.
I purchased this camera for my wife to take to England to see our daughter. I put a 64 gigabyte card in the camera so she wouldn't run out of space. The 20 megapixels on this Canon is pretty awesome, and the zoom lens (25x) doesn't distort the shots when used fully open.
I use this almost daily. It's very good since it takes clear pictures and is still small and portable.
Purchased this for a sporting event that no longer allows long lenses in the venue so my DSLR and backpack had to stay in the vehicle. I was amazed at the quality of images I got with such a small camera and the zoom range is more than adequate for what I was shooting.
This is a good, small camera that does about everything you would expect and more. The image quality is excellent and it is very easy to use. I bought one for my wife (one week before it went on sale, of course), and I am considering one for myself to supplement my Canon X4i.
It has a decent number of options and effects. You can actually get a shot of the moon with this thing!Good focus and stabilization when zoomed in.
